“Yum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

My husband loves Greek food so we had to check this place out. The atmosphere is...homey. It's obviously a family-run place. The food was great. My husband had spanakopita and I had grilled chicken. The service was good (not great). Both were delicious. We took baklava back to the hotel with us and had it for breakfast the next morning. DOUBLE YUM!

“Outstanding dinner! The pork loin was one of the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We had a terrific dinner here on a Friday night. The parking lot is ample sized, but for non-locals, it's not on the more heavily trafficked 23rd street which gets most of the hotel crowd - and has more neon. From the server to the hostess, we enjoyed having our questions answered about the food (as we are not greek and they had several very good sounding specials). My wife ordered the pork loin cooked with a wine base - it was incredible. I ordered a sampler plate which was very large, and we were both able to share. It was very good - it just wasn't as good as that pork loin! We plan on returning to try many of their other dishes. The price was very good for the large portion sizes and quality of food. Highly recommend!

“An excellent dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We both began with delicious grilled octopus and had lamb shanks in tomato sauce. Service was friendly and prompt. We would have returned on Sunday night, but they were going to be closed.

“Great food, family atmosphere and the Baklava . . how good was the Baklava!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Ate at the Athena Pallas on Saturday evening during long weekend with family in DC. Chose Athena Palllas as it was highly recommended on TripAdvisor – and I have to spend a moment to thank those reviewers for their great feedback. What a great meal we had . . . so a few comments on the place.

Great food, between three of us we had Mediterranian Spreads and Dolmadakia for starters and then Souvlakia Arni (Lamb) for two and Brisola Skaras ((NY Loin Strip Steak) for myself. All came our hot (nothing better than warm Pita bread), cooked to our specification and tasting fantastic. For dessert my wife had a slice of Baklava – when it came out our waiter brought a second plate and 2 forks – just as well, the slice of Baklava was huge (almost too much for two of us).

Atmosphere was very friendly . . when we arrived we felt we were youngest in there (and we’re in our mid forties) but everyone was so nice we felt at home.

Good value, great friendly atmosphere and somewhere you absolutely must try. Much better than our experience at the SkyDome (Doubletree) the following night.
