“Excellent places to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Excellent eating places. We ate at the one on the corner as you go into the village. Only criticism is that parking was difficult. Always the way if it's a good place

“THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL! A REAL RESTAURANT ROW WITH A GREAT THEATER”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We live fairly close to Shirlington Village. There are many very nice restaurants here. Carlyle Grand is one of the best in the entire Washington DC area. But you also have Alladdin's (middle eastern), Beckett's (Irish), Guapo's (tex-mex) and a least a dozen others. The Shirlington AMC theater is in the midst of all of this and has comfortable seating. The Signature Theater, which we attend several times a year, has great plays and musicals. Eric Schaffer the artistic director, won a Tony award for The Milliondollar Quartet a few years ago. Most recently in July I had a pleasing lunch at Samuel Beckett's Irish. Sat outside and had great sandwhich and service. And not the least is a fine branch of the Arlington Library and a Harris Teeter's grocery store. This place has it all!

“Dine with your Dog”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Lots of GREAT places to eat, there is outside seating where you can have your dog on the other side of the 'fence' along the sidewalk area. They have dog bowls of water and almost ALL places are dog friendly. The best place to eat is the Thai of Shirlington. But every place there has good food.
Good parking in lots around the main street.

“Good place to see a movie or a show”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

The movie theatre is only OK (no stadium seating) but has one of the more interesting selections of indie and foreign films in the area. Signature is a good theater as well. Parking is easy some interesting shops. Lots of food choices, which are generally good but not worth the drive in and of themselves, but fine if your already there. The exceptions are Busboys and Poets which is interesting and good and Carlye which is very good

“Small town USA in the Big City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

This quaint little village is great and animal friendly. There is a movie and play theatre along with several restaurants to choose from. If you have a dog right across the street is a .5 mile long enclosed dog park with creek accessibility.
