The Cheesetique is in Shirlington Village - it features a wine and cheese shop in the front of the store and a small cafe in the back. There is also outdoor seating. I met a friend there for lunch and it did not disappoint. Being a wine shop, the selection of good wines by the glass was very impressive. I enjoyed a nice Willamette Pinot Noir but they featured reds, whites, and sparklings from most of the major wine regions. My friend and I split a cheese plate, which was a perfect light lunch. It came with a bread basket (including flat bread) and small accompaniments. There was also the option to add on olives, bruschetta, etc., for a small fee.
The cafe's speciality is the "adult" grilled cheese but the kids' grilled cheese was fantastic. My son enjoyed it. It came on a wonderful sourdough with sharp white cheddar accompanied by grapes, just a great lunch. The kids also shared a chocolate mousse dessert, which they devoured.
The atmosphere was very casual. My only complaint was due to limited seating, we sat by a huge wine display, which was scary with youngish kids.
On the way out, they shop portion had set up a free wine tasting, which was a fun ending to the lunch.
Next time I visit Arlington, I will definitely return to this place!
