it is a very nice carillon but has not been well maintained. the paint is peeling and the steel is corroding in places. it was a gift to the u.s. from the netherlands after wwii to thank us for their liberation. i was ashamed that it was not better maintained. i notified the natl park service via my congresswoman's office. i hope they provide the small amount of funds needed to do the needed maintenance
