Great deal for vacationers driving into the DC area. In Arlington you can avoid the major traffic hassles of DC, and outrageous parking fees. Parking was free (not all that common in the area). The Metro was only about a block away, and it is a short ride on the Orange Line to Federal Triangle and the Smithsonian (no transfers needed). We drove in for a weekend tour of DC and it worked out perfectly. Rooms were very nice, and the rates were great.

This was one of the best value's I have ever stayed in for business travel.

Friendly staff, large up to date gym, free internet, modern quiet rooms, excellent location across from Metro, close to Hwy.

You always have some debacle when traveling on business, this was the first time I had none!

For the New Year I decided to do something different this year. I decided to visit Washington D.C. I knew that because it was a holiday weekend the hotels in that area would be expensive. I decided to stay in Arlington, VA at Hilton Garden Inn.
The hotel was CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!! (Trust me I know what I am talking about because I am a neat freak!) The staff was kind and always willing to help you get whatever you needed. The breakfast may be a little expensive for a buffet of $9.95. However, the food was great! I ate there each morning. There's fresh fruits, different pasteries, and pancakes are made at your request right in front of you!
There is a Lounge there and the American Grill serves breakfast and dinner. However, I never went there for dinner.
The hotel is surrounded by resturants, food markets,shopping centers, a movie theatre and joggers all over the place. Oh yeah the bathroom is small but atleast it is clean.

Thank you for the previous reviews I was able to pick a wonderful hotel for me and my husband. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.

I won't repeat the last few reviews -- i stayed here based on them and wasn't disappointed. (thanks!) a few things to add:

1. i thought the buffet was overpriced. especially with a Whole Foods up the block and a frige and a microwave in the room, its easy to eat much better for much less.

2. the garage is very convenient -- from car to room without needing to go through the lobby.

3. if you have a car, theres an incredible variety of restaurants within a couple of miles. I especailly enjoyed ther barbecue at Red Hot and Blue (east on Wilson Blvd)and the Indian Kabobs at the Food Factory (west on Wilson)

4. theres a lot of urban shopping in Clarendon (a 10 minute walk or one metro stop) like Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn. Ballston (two metro stops)has a decent size mall and a pretty impressive public library.
