I spent two nights in this hotel recently. Personally, I had no issues with the hotel. I had reserved a room with two double beds. When we arrived, the check-in process was easy. There were no problems with the my reservation. When we got to the room, it was clean and spacious. The group I was traveling with felt that the room smelled a bit musty, assuming it was from the A/C unit/heater. However, this didn't bother me. The bathroom was clean, the sheets seemed clean as well.
The one major issue we had was breakfast. My friends and I ventured downstairs on our first morning in town. We helped ourselves to the breakfast bar thinking it was a complimentary breakfast. It was only after we finished and were getting up to leave that we were provided with our bill. We hadn't noticed that there was a placard on the wall detailing the breakfast bar and prices. This wasn't made clear upon check-in. So, we paid of course. Needless to say, we didn't eat there the next morning.
Aside from the breakfast issue and the musty smell noticed by my friends, the rest of the stay was fairly uneventful. We were comfortable with the room. It was a nice stay for our short trip.

I am sorry to hear your trip was marred by the misunderstanding regarding breakfast but no HGI is allowed to give food away. The next time you book, might I suggest the Bed & Breakfast rates that we all have...for just a few dollars more a night, you will have breakfast coupons and will have no problems at all in the mornings...an excellent value.
