“Great hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2011

My 2 kids (12 and 16) really enjoyed our stay at this Hilton. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, it was a 3-4 minute walk to the Metro Station and within easy walking distance of many varied restaurants. The room was comfortable and pleasant. There is a shuttle service that will take you to places within a couple of miles (we were able to get to Arlington Cemetary this way). Our room included free breakfast due to a special promotion, but even if we had to pay, the breakfast buffet was amply stocked. Both kids enjoyed making waffles and having omelets cooked to order. We'd definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for several days surrounding the 4th of July and found the location and the hotel both excellent.

The room was large and well equiped. The staff kept it neat and tidy and fully stocked with toiletries, coffee (and tea which was nice as my husband does not drink coffee) and extra towels. The clock had MP3 capabilities, and the TV worked fine once we realized that there was a pause each time you changed a channel. The bath curtain was installed properly (which I don't find too often) affording a no-leak shower. The beds were comfortable. After a day of walking for miles, it was a treat to lay on the bed with the multiple pillows and just chill. The hotel does not have a pool, which was a disappointment. But we were so busy, I doubt we would have found the time to use it.

The location couldn't be better. It's 2 blocks from the Metro, and there are restaurants for any taste and budget within 4 blocks. A movie theater is a block away, and Saturdays there is a farmers market right accross the street! That is the perfect way to meet locals and ask for restaurant suggestions. There is a pantry in the hotel, and there is a Market in the Courthouse Plaza with a wider selection. The Market was not overpriced for the most part. A CVS is around the corner from the metro, so if you forgot the sunscreen, you are covered!

The hotel has a restaurant in the lobby with a breakfast buffet. The cost is $12.95 plus tax. There was a wide selection, and eggs, pancakes and other goodies can be special ordered - or there are scrambled eggs on the buffet.

The lobby also had a beverage center with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. This was open 24/7 and was complementary. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has become my go-to hotel for trips to the D.C. area.

Room Tip: Ask for 5th floor or higher.

Our family stayed here 3 nights while sight seeing in DC. It is a few blocks from the metro. (about 10-20 minute ride) Nice parking garage with in and out privileges. Our room was clean and had a fridge and microwave and we booked though hotels.com and opted for the free breakfast add on. The breakfast was great with lots of options (cooked to order eggs, etc) Our maid did a great job tidying up after us :-) Only snafu was they didn't have our free breakfast cards at check in, but we called the booking agent and got it straightened out and the ladies at breakfast never asked us if we wanted coffee and I couldn't help wonder if it was because we didn't leave them a tip?

Room Tip: entertainment guide, hotels.com

We stayed here for two nights after getting a pretty good room rate for the weekend. The room was fine, and pretty much what you expect for this class of hotel. It was very clean and well kept. The ceilings were a little low, but this was more of an oddity than a problem. The parking garage was secure, and only $12/day to park. The main advantage of this place is the accessibility to the metro (Courthouse) about a block away. This is why we chose this place, and it was a fine choice. We didn't interact much with the staff other than checking in, but they seemed helpful and friendly.

The only negative thing is that from our room on the fifth floor, we heard quite a lot of toilets flushing on the floor above us. Either we could hear toilets from several rooms, or the person directly above us was very ill.

The restaurant next door (Ragtime) is not bad for beer and burgers. There's a little row of restaurants just a couple of blocks away.

My wife and I recently stayed here for a weekend in June. The rate was very reasonable. Location to Arlington and DC is excellent, with easy access to main highways. The staff was great. Room (suite) was ideal for a long weekend, clean and quiet. We will definitely stay here again.

Surprisingly nice, quiet hotel with really easy driving access from Rte 50 West, and two blocks from the Courthouse Metro (Orange Line station). Very friendly and accomodating front desk staff (thanks for the breakfast!). Close to Wilson Blvd/Clarendon Blvd area for food/drinks/convenience shopping (there's a local farmers market Saturday at the Courthouse parking lot if you're tired of pub grub or ethnic). Parking is in the hotel, but it's $12 a day extra. Only glitches - the low-flow toilet in bathroom didn't flush so well sometimes; internet connection could have been better.

Would stay in this family friendly area of Arlington again. Both hotel and community were inviting. Easy access to DC ( Metrorail is a city block away). Hotel was clean and beds were very comfortable. Husband and I both have back issues so a great bed is necessary. Room was so cozy that we could have lounged there for a day before venturing into the city. (That's significant because I don't particularly like hotel stays.) Staff was very friendly and accomodating. The area around the hotel was also clean and attractive. Farmer's market on Sat. morning was a nice deviation en route to the Metro. Restaurants were within walking distance. Hilton Garden Inn--you're business will be fruitful if you keep this hotel current, clean, and courteous as we found it last summer. We really had an enjoyable visit.
