“Would definitely return”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Pleasant helpful staff...beautiful quiet room, meals delicious, metro within 2 min of walking(inside)...can not think of a reason to not return...it was our first time to the capital and we were sure accommodations would be costly but were pleasantly surprised to get a king size bed and sitting area for under $90. We ate in restaurant 3 nights and food was surprisingly good and beer cold...

Room Tip: Higher up...means less traffic noise..we were on 15 th floor and found it very quiet

First off I love Washington DC and this hotel made the trip even more enjoyable. It was right above the street from the train that took you wherever you needed to go. The fron desk staff was friendly but they didn't smile enough. the room was cozy, they didnt clean our room one day that was kind of annoying but it worked out for the most part.

Okay, after having not done a damn fun thing all summer and needing some r and r, I booked a room at this place. I was surprised that I was able to get a $90 rate on a Sunday night, calling at 4:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon on a Labor Day weekend. But, I wanted to "play" in Arlington, read they had an indoor/outdoor pool, so what the heck.

Checked in (they do not require a credit card, except for the reservation, no holds and no extra cash deposit -- NICE) and was warned about all the construction (we'll get to that).

Got to the room and while unpacking, flicked the tv on. "No signal" -- not a good sign, FROM A MARRIOTT! Called the front desk, she was very, very nice and I shoulda got her name. Said she'd send someone right up. Since it was about 5:30 on a Sunday, I was eager to check out the pool, so in no mood to wait for the "engineer." After waiting for 20 minutes, and not having unpacked, headed with the suitcase back down to the lobby. Front desk told me the engineer came up and said it was working -- uh, no, he/she had not been there.

Got upgraded to the "concierge level" on the 16th floor. TV worked, key for concierge didn't, nor did it for anyone else. There was an "honor" bar -- figured I earned the first drink on them -- a gin and tonic (Tanqueray).

Pool is in a weird place. On the second level, but really on the first, but no way to get to it, since the elevators were caution-taped off the second level AND the escalators didn't work, with no explanation why. Whatever ... Found it, enjoyed the jacuzzi and pool, but not happy with the very young children in the jacuzzi, despite the signs saying they were not allowed, and with a huge pool for THEIR enjoyment.

Towels were nice, bathroom was average, tv was spotty and was a bit disappointed in that, being the second room. Bed was extremely comfortable. Weird accommodations, especially if you get room service. I pre-ordered breakfast for the next morning, and the $20 breakfast "frittata" was extremely disappointing -- basically scrambled eggs with some leftover sausage mixed in. Not worth the money at all. And a zip packet of ketchup and no hot sauce?

The service outweighs the accommodations, BY FAR. Elevators were very slow and supposedly wifi is $12 a night. This place is surrounded by other high end hotels. Go somewhere else unless you're on the cheap. Lastly, they did not have a cab light at night and I had to hail my own -- another unacceptable.

This is the 3rd time we stayed at this hotel. It was Labor Day weekend and we got a special AAA rate which included breakfast. We loved this hotel our last 2 stays. Still had a good stay here, but there were a few hiccups. The Mez (the hotel's main restaurant) was under contstruction, so the breakfast buffet didn't have the usual omlet and waffle station. They were serving breakfast at the lobby bar area. The buffet was still very good, but I missed that station. Breakfast on Monday was slow due to the temporary kitchen. Supposedly, the construction should be done mid-September. We usually check-in Friday and leave Sunday. This time we stayed Sat to Mon. Some of the places in Crystal City we usually eat for dinner were closed on Sunday. We ended up doing room service and the lobby bar instead. I think most of the minor issues we had were construction and Labor Day related. Still think the hotel is a great value. Would definitely recommend. Short Merto ride to downtown (15-20 min ride, maybe 10 minute max wait on weekends) and much cheaper than downtown DC hotels. Clean room, nice pool and friendly staff.

I stayed here during a short weekend visit to DC with my kids. The staff was great and the hotel was really nice. Great location to hop on the DC metro, and within walking distance to some really nice restaurants.
I will definitely stay here again.....

My husband and I just returned from a great stay at this hotel. We chose it because it is close to DC and we found a great deal on livingsocial.com. We loved the location of this hotel. It was a very short walk to the metro and great restaurants.
We had a basic room with a king bed. The room was one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in and the bed was probably the most comfortable we've ever slept in! I miss it!
Check-in and check-out were both very quick and easy. We had tickets to a National's game and were able to print out our tickets on the computer at the concierge desk in the lobby, which was very helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return if we head that way again.

Recently stayed at this hotel again. The hotel is conveniently located right near the Crystal City Metrorail line ( underground access to the Metro with lots of shops and restaurants close by). There is a complimantary airport shuttle from Reagan airport, which operated every 20 minutes and a plus. Check in was easy. They have water in the lobby which is a big plus especially after a long day sightseeing. There is an extra charge for wifi, but free wifi in the lobby which had adequate speed. Plus, the hotel offers complimentary check in kiosk and printer as a courtesy( which is a great plus and convenience).
Our room was big and spacious, with luxurious linen and very comfortable beds( 2 Double beds, I think it is Queen size). The bathroom was also big, with Bath and Body Works toietries. Closet space was adequate. The doormen were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, hallways are also well kept. The concierge was not too helpful and not too knowledgeable. Had to find out for myself that one can access the restaurants advertised on the hotel newsletter via the underground Crystal City shops ( which is a shorter route plus no need to cross busy streets especially in increment weather). They offer the Wall Street Journal in the lobby.
They offer reasonable rates if one reserves way in advance.
