“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very convenient location - close to Georgetown and the rosslyn metro station. The view was also very nice. Breakfast was services at on the 17th floor with stunning views. However the breakfast itself was poor. The room was clean and the bathrooms were decent. Overall a good budget hotel I think. However it is still a holiday inn so don't expect too much .

We stayed here from 2 to 6 Apr 2013. We had two double bedded rooms. The rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel is spacious and clean. I liked the roof top restaurant with an early morning view of Sunrise over the Potomac river, Key Bridge and George Town. Breakfast was complimentary and substantial. But we had to be there early because late comers did not get some food items at times. Please note this point. We spent all our time at the National Mall, Museums and Tidal Basin. The Rosslyn metro station is just a three minute walk from the hotel. There are good hotels and cafes in the vicinity for lunch and dinner options. Car parking was free. We could easily walk up to the Key Bridge in the evening and enjoy the grand expanse of Potomac river from the side walk. Arlington Cemetery and Pentagon are located just some distance away. All in all we enjoyed our stay and recommend this property to others.

Room Tip: Higher floors recommended. We stayed on 9 th floor. Ask for room towards the Potomac to view sunrise...

Stayed here for 1 night as part of a 4 days business trip to Washington DC. I had stayed the first three days in a small hotel in the downtown area and it was a horrible experience (see my earlier review!). When I moved to this place, it was a big relief. The most positive aspects of this hotel are very large and spacious rooms (see the pic) with balconies that gives amazingly beautiful views of the river (I stayed in the 8th floor) and town (See the pictures I uploaded!). The neighbourhood also appeared very clean, safe and convenient. The metro station Rosslyn is at just 5 minutes walking distance and it can help you quickly reach the downtown as well as westfalls church metro station (from which you can catch the direct Washington flyer bus to Dulles International Airport). There are also good restaurants nearby and there are also McD/ Starbucks nearby. The staff in the evening shift were very friendly and professional, though I must say that the lady receptionists in the morning shift were a bit rude/ unprofessional.
The only negatives I could find about this hotel are that the room and the floor looked a bit dated and the lightings in the room lacked uniformity (some lights were cream, while others were white), which in turn made the room look less pleasant than what it actually is. May be the Holiday Inn interior designers should make a visit to this hotel and make the rooms look more appealing/ contemporary.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a budget accomodation on her/ his trip to Washington DC.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the river view, in one of the upper floors

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

We got three rooms on a saturday night before Easter. Two of the rooms had a city view of the Rosslyn side and the other had the river view and theoretical great view of DC but we were to low to see anything as the view was stymied by the Marriot right accross the road.

The rooms were very typical of a Holiday Inn. Decent size with two double beds, Furnishings and furniture were well design. All the rooms had a veranda of decent size. Things got a little iffy when you got to the bathroom though. It looked old and not very clean. There was also very little supplies with just enough soap and shampoo for a couple persons. Bath was also quite dark. While I knew not to expect luxury was hoping to be surprised pleasantly. This was not the case. Nevertheless we got what we paid for so that is fine.

The property has onsite parking which is free but a bit tight. The lobby is tiny so if you expect to meet up with guests it's perfunctory at best. Theres a coffeeshop at the top floor with a nice view. Common areas are very motelish though. The best part of the property though is it's location. While it's in an office area there are a lot of eating places within a few blocks and more importantly it has a metro stop very near by and Georgetown is within walking distance. This is something that can not be underestimated as its very difficult to find parking so it's very possible to park in the hotel and just walk to the Georgetown restaurants. This may be the best reason to stay in this hotel.

All in all it's a good option for staying in Washington specially when the room situation gets tight. It's not expensive but it's also not luxury so don't expect it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the river have a better view than the city view rooms but go higher so you don't he...

This hotel is not in the center of everything but if you can get it for a good price it might be worth the short subway ride to the attractions. The room was sort of dirty and had a smell. I couldn't figure out if it was just musty or if guests had previously smoked there. I was there for a conference and wish I'd moved to another hotel in DC after the conference was over. Again, not the worst hotel ever. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the conference went very well. The meeting rooms were nice and the catering was good for a hotel. So just weigh your options with this one and if you can get something closer to attractions or a bit nicer for a better or equal price, you might want to consider the options carefully.

This hotel is a perfect place to stay. My family (husband and two kids ages, 13 and 9) stayed from April 13-19, 2013. The location is perfect, one or two blocks from the Metro. The price is reasonable. The restaurant on the 17th floor was great for breakfast. Didn't care for the meal at dinner time. However, numerous restaurants in the area within walking distance. We walked over the bridge a couple of times to Georgetown, which was a very nice walk. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone.

I've stayed in nicer HIs for less.
It's a bit drab and worn.

View is good.

The location is good for what I needed.

Metro is close by.

Service was amateurish.

Restaurant is one of the worst meals I can remember. It was so bad it was comical.
