“A fantastic experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

I never write reviews, but this time I feel inclined to do so. My girlfriend and I just spent the weekend in Washington D.C. and after it was all said and done I decided to book this hotel. That was the best decision I have made in the past year.
After reading the reviews on here, I was hesitant. People seemed to complain about everything this hotel had to offer. Whether it was the rooms being dirty, the staff unfriendly, or the hotel being "out of date." There was always a complaint. I will say this, people in nature complain about a lot. I am an extremely particular person and did not find one thing wrong. Our stay was fantastic. Let me break it down.
How about we start with free parking? Yes, free parking! Enough said. Our room over looked the potomac and was an amazing view of Georgetown at night and refreshing in the morning. The room was very clean and very modern. The staff was extremely friendly, whether it was Chris or Chi at the front desk or Abdul, our waiter, both mornings for breakfast, EVERYONE was fantastic. The lobby was beautiful and clean. The best part was the ease of getting to the metro. Literally one block away.
I have seen complaints about the noise of planes flying over the city. Face it people, you are going to a major city, if you can't handle new sights and sounds then stay home and cook a bar-b-que.
To all those planning to goto D.C, do yourself a favor and stay here. The price was great, location was great and if you have a bad experience it will probably be your fault. Again, I had a fantastic experience and will not book anywhere else when I come to D.C.

My husband and I and our two boys (12, 9) spent three nights here last week and were very pleased. Yes, as others have mentioned, some of the hotel is a bit run down, but at least it's clean! Only one morning did we have to wait a long time for an elevator, but it was at the hour that everyone was trying to get breakfast and get out. Not a big deal. Positive things...

* Block and a half to the Metro and the very next stop has you already in DC at Foggy Bottom. Couldn't be more convenient!
* Free breakfast for all four of us. Our staff was very attentive, bringing drinks, clearing plates, greeting us each morning. Maybe it had to do with the fact we left a small tip each morning! Food was not outstanding, but normal fare for this type of thing---cereal, bread, bagels, eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, bacon, home fries, fruit.
* Free parking. Even though we didn't need it, I understand what a perk this really is in the city!
* Pool!!! The kids loved going in every night. Small, but clean. Enough for them to cool off and have fun.
* Helpful staff. Every time I stopped at the desk to ask a question, I was helped quickly and efficiently.
* Very reasonable price. For what you get, you can't beat it.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again. If you want top of the line, most modern, perfect fixtures, expensive furnishings, you have to pay for it. If you want reasonable price, convenience, basic amenities, this is it----and even more!

Stayed here 3 nights, our room was spacious, clean and very nice. If ever in the area again I would stay here. Great room for the money. You could barely hear the traffic with the exception on one really loud car that went by. Nice place for the money. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Was not impressed with the breakfast buffet on the top floor. View was great but the food was not impressive. If you are a club member you get free breakfasts buffet for 2 each morning of stay. If there is a third person(my son) it cost $14.95. McDonalds is a block away.

Hotel is located on 1 block from metro. Awesome location to catch the train to go into DC. Great way to travel there.

Room Tip: In the morning, the elevators are slow because of people heading up for breakfast and/or checking ou...

My husband and I stayed here for a week in April. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. It was a short two block walk to the Metro. We did not rent a car and relied on the metro to take us everywhere. Metro was very easy to navigate and we had no problems getting around at all to all of the tourist spots we wanted to see during our stay.

The elevators are extremely slow and all of the other guests would continuously comment on that.

Breakfast buffet was good, but the service was terrible. You are told to bring this card with you every morning, but there is never anyone at the hostess desk to seat you or take you card. Not a big deal, but you usually are responsible for getting your own beverage as no waiter is around to get it for you. You could literally walk off the street and get free breakfast and no one would be the wiser. Breakfast was good and was a great free way to have a big breakfast before walking all over the city.

I would definitely stay here again.

Great location just outside the District on the other side of the Key Bridge. Easy check in, free breakfast for the whole family for joining the Holiday Inn Preferred Guest Club (free) and free parking made this a great spot for our family trip to DC. No question that I would stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for a conference and found it a great value for the price we paid. Our conference was able to negotiate a price of just under $100 for the room. This included a beautiful hot breakfast in the terrace room overlooking Georgetown and free parking in the hotel. This is unheard of so close to Washington, DC.
Our room was comfortable and spacious, the bathroom was average and the views from their terrace top restaurant were outstanding! All the employees we interacted with were helpful and friendly. The hotel was in the process of renovating the hallway outside our room, so we had a rude awakening early one morning to scraping and banging at our door; but the renovations are going to be lovely when they are completed.
The conference food was average. We had dinner one night at the Terrace Room and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The only disappointment there was the Peach Melba - the peaches seemed to be canned rather than fresh. We enjoyed a swim between sessions and found it to be just the right temperature for laps. We saw the exercise room and it was also done well.
This would be a great hotel for families who wish to sight-see or business travelers - free WiFi in your room and a great working desk. It was very comfortable, convenient and had quite a few free amenities that made it a bargain.

Room Tip: We had an end unit that faced a residential neighborhood and had a bit more space than our fellow tr...

Had a weekend stay with a friend. The hotel was less than a 5 minute walk to the Metro station to take us to DC. Great location.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and they gave us useful maps.

Room was nice and clean, although the walls in the shower were a little bit dirty and had stains. Other than that, no complaints.

The pool was also nice and clean as well.

If I came back to the DC area, I'd probably stay here again.
