Make believe Arlington Cemetery is like the Guggenheim. When you arrive, take the tram all the way to the top and see the Robert E. Lee Home first. Then, the rest of your visit will be an easy walk down hill.
Actually, the home is just average if you have seen any of the other hundred historic homes in the area (Mt. Vernon, Oaklawn, Gunston Hall, etc.). However, what those places do not have is the view from the front porch. Once you walk out you'll not only see the Memorial Bridge and Lincoln before you, if you look down hill, the Kennedy grave sites are right below. They should be your next stop.
PS: This is a great place for twilight pictures but be prepared to be kicked out when it closes at dusk.
