“This is not a fast food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Expect to wait because there will always be someone ahead of you, that said, the wait is worthwhile. I suggest you look at the menu while you are waiting for your turn to place your order because the choices are all tempting. The dining area is dark and table is sometimes sticky, it is self serve so be prepared.

“New York Style Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Having grown up in an Italian neighborhood in New York, I have district pizza preferences- a dough with air pockets and a bit of char, sauce with low acidity and an appealing taste and cheese that is tasty and stringy. Pupatella meets the test. My wife and I split a pizza for a light dinner. The specials each week are a pleasant adventure. I am also a big fan of the eggplant pram--just like my aunt made when I was a kid

“Over-rated and over-priced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

My friend and I decided to try Pupatella because of the highly rated reviews. We ordered one Margherita pizza and a can of soda for $14! You take a number and the server will bring it to your table. You have to get your own cups and clean up afterwards. The pizza was about 12" round. Half of the pizza crust was burnt black. The center was too soggy and chewy. The pizza topping had a nice flavor but not enough cheese. They sell Italian-style donuts at lunch (see the website for photos under the heading "Specials"). They cost $3 each and there's absolutely nothing special about these donuts--it's 98% dough. You only get 1 teaspoon of filling. This is the honest truth. I was expecting a lot more filling. I ate the 1 teaspoon of Nutella filling and threw out the rest. Photos can be deceiving. Please don't waste your money or calories on these so-called Italian donuts. Another problem is the lack of parking. Get here early or else you'll have to park in the Safeway parking lot across the busy street.

“Overpriced pizza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

They advertise as the true Neapolitan pizza made in an oven imported from Naples but I was not impressed! The oven is very hot, so the crust begins to burn before the tomato sauce is fully warmed and the cheese completely melted. The result is a chewy, mushy crust with ingredients barely hot. You certainly don't burn your mouth with this pizza.! The good thing is that the ingredients are very fresh and tasty. Prices are from $10 to $12 for a small pizza.

“Good pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

The pizza was very good with fresh ingredients but it was a little bit pricey but not too bad. The service was good and fast. I think our pizzas were on our tables in less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered. I have had better pizza but that is my personal preference. This place is what real pizza from Italy is and they do a good job at it.
