This memorial was very carefully designed.
The fence starts at 3 inches high, and rises to 71 inches to mark the youngest and eldest victims. Benches are placed in age order, one for each victim. These benches face according to whether to victim was in the Pentagon or on the plane.
All of it is laid on the flightpath.
A lot of planning has gone into this and like the memorial in NYC, they have done very well to make something beautiful from such a terrible event.
It is also clear on the side of the building which section has been replaced.
Definitely worth a visit.
