“Great site for a conference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2012

I stayed at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View while attending a conference. Although located very close to Ronald Regan Airport, (my room had a view of the runways) several of us commented on how quiet our rooms were. Rooms were well appointed, including a small refrigerator. Conference rooms, and atrium areas are spacious and attractively decorated. Buffet meals were a cut above the norm, and the hotel's restaurant (Socci's) was also quite good. Staff were accomodating - especially when we needed to find an open pharmacy at midnight. I can only hope the conference is scheduled here again next year!

Right from the start I knew I was in for a treat. Have stayed with at various Marriott properties for years and the Renaissance is a gem in the chain! With a hip, boutique feel and wonderful amenities, I give this resort high marks! Stayed for a conference and cannot say enough nice things about my experience. My room had a great view of Washington's National Airport but it was not noisy at all.

NOTE: the hotel is right by train tracks and while I did hear a freight train go by pretty early in the morning on my side of the property, it didn't bother me at all but rather added to the allure. That and the 70 degree temperature in Feb which allowed me to take a morning run in shorts after leaving nearly two feet of snow in Denver!

This is a great hotel with a clean, new feeling. It's location is prime for work on the N. VA side of DC. Although it does not have a nearby metro stop, it provides free shuttle service to both DCA and the Crystal City Metro stops. Breakfast and club offerings for Marriott Elite members are first class as is the customer service in all departments. This is a great hotel for anyone travel for federal business as they offer gov't rate rooms.

A great hotel that was close to my appointments. Only downside is that it is not convenient to the Metro, but they do have a good shuttle service.

Staff was most excellent.

The Renaissance is my preferred hotel in the Crystal City/Arlington area. I've stayed at a bunch in this area, but the Renaissance is by far the best.

First, the hotel is stunning! The lobby invokes a wonderful, trendy, cool atmosphere...and makes you feel great about staying at the hotel...it's very welcoming, which is nice when there on business travel.

Reception staff are always friendly and accommodating. At times, I've been upgraded and had a fantastic suite as well. The Concierge Lounge is great...very convenient.

And, the gym is the best!! Weights and cardio equipment...all in great condition.

I can't say enough positive things about this hotel...try it for yourself and you'll never go to another hotel in the area.

Good location, free shuttle from National Airport and near the Metro. Can't say the staff is warm and fuzzy but more very polite and willing to help. Lots of dining options nearby and the hotel food fare is better than most. New hotel, lobby bathroom won best in the city. Rooms are good size, clean, standard amenities. Railroad nearby can be a little noisy but rooms are well insulated. No perks despite being a member of the hotel chain frequent guest program. Internet a bit higher than others but very fast. TV was hit or miss with system being down for half of my stay. Check your bill for mystery charges. No problem getting them taken off the bill but it's up to you to find them.

Room Tip: Pick room away from railroad/metro tracks.
