“Second visit just as good as the first”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

This is the only place we will ever stay when we visit DC! The Metro is a block away, they serve a free breakfast of everything you could think of. They also have dinners three nights a week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are immaculate. We asked the front desk have a taxi pick us up one morning at 9:15 and they were there right on time. They also have a gym. Several terrific restaurants within a half a block. There is also a Whole Foods two blocks away which is handy because there is a fully equipped kitchen in the suite with a full size fridge! The only recommendation I would make is to bring saline nasal spray in the winter months since the air tends to get very dry.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the main street can be noisy in the summer months and the garbage trucks start rolli...

“A very efficient accommodation in Washington”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

This is a very nice hotel at convenient location. They had every night free dinner - nothing special but eatable - and nice hot breakfast. Room had lots of space and was clean. Metro station is 3 minutes from the hotel and Starbucks right in front of the main door. Only disappointment was that our kinds could not use the hot spa (the lifeguard was did not allow it) and the pool was cold.

“Two Metro Stops from Foggy Bottom”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Great staff. Great location if you're going into DC. The metro is a block away. Love the free breakfast.

My husband and I had an excellent experience here after a long, miserable day where the front desk clerk of a nearby Marriott property was rude to us. (We went to the wrong hotel. There are quite a few Marriotts in Arlington.)

The manager of this hotel heard about my bad experience at the other hotel and emailed me personally to apologize. I really appreciated that.

“Fantastic Stay at Residence Inn - Arlington Courthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Fantastic new hotel in heart of Arlington, VA!!! Accomodations were top notch and staff was very friendly and always very helpful. Very good location with direct subway access to Washington DC Metro Area. Clean, new, safe, and only 100 yards from the Metro (subway) Station. Several shops, restaurants, and even a Starbucks all right there. FireWorks Pizza restaurant was outstanding. We went back three times during our 4 night stay!

Room Tip: Not a bad room in this hotel. It's brand new!

“A Well Thought-Out Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We stayed here on a Friday night, with a senior room rate of $110 for a studio. This included the free buffet breakfast Saturday morning, which was okay, but nothing special. (Still, breakfast anywhere else would have been app. $25-30, so deducting that from the $110 yields an astonishing $80-85 for the night.)

Upon arrival, we each received a bottle of water and a bagged Otis Spunkmeyer cookie. I noticed a large bowl of apples for snacking in the lobby, and mused that I'd rarely seen such perks at far more expensive hotels. The young woman at the front desk was courteous and perky, and after dumping off our bags in our room I parked the car in the underground garage around the corner. The fee was supposed to be $14 for this, but it wasn't on my bill. (At checkout I mentioned this and I'm still not sure if I actually will be charged for it. Perhaps parking is free on weekends?)

When we returned to the room later we performed our semi-ritualistic "inspection." I noted that the room was really well thought-out. There were four chairs, a couch and two tables. Lots of lights and lamps. Plenty of space. A nice kitchenette with a large fridge. I could've lived there comfortably for weeks. The shower and toilet area had a door, separating it from the sink area. There was a blow dryer in a drawer, and an iron, two extra blankets, an extra pillow and an extra set of sheets in the closet. There was a mirror over the sink and a full-length one on the bathroom door. The shower head was high enough for a tall person. Electrical outlets near the bed were easily accessible. The TV was against a wall that wasn't adjacent to any other hotel rooms (so no noise from neighbors) and it was a nice-sized LCD with some extremely clear HD channels. A package of microwave popcorn was there for the popping. Of course there was a coffee maker. There were room-darkening curtains. The king-size bed was very comfortable. I heard no outside noise all night--not even the usual slamming doors (although this could have been due to not having any nearby neighbors). Everything was clean and seemed new--no wear or shabbiness anywhere.

I can't recall a hotel room where it was so obvious that the designer had such massive common sense and the ability to put himself in the guest's shoes. Because of this and the incredibly low price, the few minor quibbles we had are not worth mentioning.

Oh, there's a nearby train stop which takes you right into D.C., so if you're planning a trip there--short or long--forget about booking a place in the city. This hotel is the place to stay!

Room Tip: Note that the only "restaurant" is the morning breakfast buffet service. There are quite a...
