“LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2010

This is one of my favorite hotels to stay at. It is SOOOOO cozy! It is not your typical hotel more like a boutique hotel inside. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. The lobby is chic and trendy. It has a beautiful winding staircase that goes from the lobby to the second floor. They do have a concierge lounge in this property. The food is great is great they do go the extra mile to make sure that they have all of the amenities such as wine, beer, all the mixers, soda, and water. I have stayed in several of the executive suites and the presidential suite. They are so gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, and truly amazing. The beds are so comfortable. The service is amazing. They truly care about their guests. I stay there very often and they really do go the extra mile to make sure that your stay is amazing. I love how they know all their frequent travelers and they make it a point to insure that your stay is wonderful. I sleep like a baby when I stay here. If I am traveling anywhere in the DC/PA/MD area I fly into DCA and stay the final night in this property. It is the perfect place to decompress after a long week! Also located near the trains so that you can get anywhere in the DC area for sight seeing. You can easily get to and from DCA on the shuttle bus. The food in the property is great. I have eaten room service one time (this trip). The other stays (too many to count!) I have eaten at some of the best restaurants the DC area has to offer. Frankly, you are within walking distance of the best food in DC! The concierge will get you into the best seats in the finest restaurants with a phone call. This is a great place to stay for business meeting and or if you are on your honeymoon! If you are having a business meeting I would go for the Presidential Suite as they have a bar area in that room. The photos that I have included in this review are of the executive suite.

We attended a wedding at the hotel and stayed for one night in the junior suite. The hotel is clean and the bed was very comfortable. You can get to a shopping area from the hotel. It was Sunday when we went and most of the shops were closed. The pool area also was nice and clean. It was an enjoyable stay.

We really look for affordable hotels in DC. We settled on this one for the $99 AAA rate, and the location. The Metro is accessable via an underground Mall area, short 5 minute walk. We parked the car and left it, cost was $22 a day, hey its a city what do you expect. The room was spacious and the bathroom was plenty large. The room maid was attentive and thanked us for the tip we gave her earlier. The pool had a lifeguard on site, and he kept the place looking ship shape. One complaint that pool was FREEZING!! I asked what temp is was and he said 82, not so, as everyone who entered made a comment how cold it was. The front door man served us lemonaid and walked us outside to show us how to access some local food. Only wish was that breakfast was included, but for $99 a nite, we provided for ourselves. Marriott Crystal City is a good choice, if you can book with them, do so. We would definately stay here again.

Hotel was nice..rooms were nice..bathroom was small...front desk staff not knowledgeable or helpful with directions/restaurants/etc. The really scary and worst part was I believe there was fraud done with my credit card...two weeks after our stay, my credit card was fraudulently charged for the room charges. Used Marriott free room certificates which were mysteriously lost/missing from my account. When I called to have the charge reversed was told it would have to be investigated and would take about a week to get my $1K back. Decided to dispute with cc company instead. Service is not their specialty!

Smaller full service Marriott in Crystal City, super convenient to the Metro if headed to tourist parts of Washington DC. Lot of convenient restaurants in Crystal City -low to high end.
Hotel is typical Marriott - very friendly and helpful front desk and restaurant staff. Has on site parking. Clean, well maintained, comfortable beds - all to Marriott standards
Except - very noisy AC units in the room. That is the one complaint - ended up cooling the room down and then turning it off at night
That is why the average rating.
Value is rated low - price is high per night, but DC is high in general.

Better than typical Marriott. 10 minutes by airport shuttle to DCA and there are plenty of taxis available. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes. Gym was better than usual; swimming pool is rather large. Breakfast menu in the restaurant looked good. TV menu was good. Location a block from metro is very good. On this block you have the Marriott, Hyatt and Sheraton from what I could see; the Marriott got good reviews on TripAdivsor and that's why I stayed here. It was perfectly fine although I also feel I paid quite a bit in comparison to other properties; I paid $309 for a night based on the Marriott.com price.

I go to DC every other year for a weekend vacation-and always stay in a different hotel. I found this one for $99 a night---unheard of in DC--and was very pleased. Super staff, free shuttle to airport, great room, etc. 1 short block to the blue/yellow line of metro. My only complaints---don't plan on eating or shopping at the Crystal City mall below the hotel. Everything was closed by 5:00!!!! Crystal city is deserted over the weekend-a ghost town.
