We decided at the last minute (I worked for an airline at the time) to fly to Washington D.C. We flew into Regan National, took the Metro with all intentions of stay at the Radisson due to the price of the room. When we walked by the Marriott we decided to stop in and see if they had any rooms available (It was a Friday Morning, so they had rooms available for a good price and we were only staying that one night). so we decided to pay an extra $40 for the more convenient walk.

We are very glad we did. The room was very spacious with a flat screen TV, it had wonderful service, very helpful front desk and a very helpful bellman. We had to ask for additional towels but room service was very prompt. To say the least we used the hell out of the room. Our two day stay felt like a week. But this was a very good thing because we were in need of a quick get away. We throughly enjoyed ourselves.

We will definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit.

“best hotel in crystal city”

my wife and I have stayed at the sheraton and the hilton in crystal city and we can honestly say that the marriot is the most convenient (take the elevator downstairs and walk through crystal shops to the metro), has the nicest rooms (we had a flat screen tv), and has the best breakfast (they have an omelette and waffle station). The Marriot even has a 1pm check out which was great for us because our flight was at 3:30.

Our professional group stayed here for 5 days. Some members complained bitterly about staff, but we found the front desk and bar staff completely affable and accomodating. Our room was large, and the bed extremely comfortable, with very soft linens. Bath smaller than might have been expected, but not to the point where one felt like one was in a New York City hotel. No noise problems.

We did not have breakfast here; a block away is a row of restaurants, including Caribou Coffee and Cosi. (I believe the seafood restaurant is McCormick & Schmick, not Legal Seafood, although in Reagan National, there's an LS.) And you're a half block indoor walk from part of the Crystal City underground shopping with Dunkin Donuts and other things. In the afternoon, there are cool drinks in the lobby, and one day a week, it's a wine punch.

We saw no construction, although on Sunday, it was clear they were painting somewhere. One of the three elevators was out of service that day, and the fumes were circulating. Housekeeping in the room was excellent, but there was a small piece of paper on the carpet outside our door that remained the entire length of our stay.

For those driving, this can be a difficult place to locate. Watch for the signs for Arena Stage, a theater group that's temporarily moved right next door to the hotel. In fact, Washington is a fine theater town, both in the District and in Arlington County.

“It was okay, not the greatest”

Crystal City Marriott at Reagan National Airport

My job put me and few coworkers at this hotel for a few nights for a conference we were having in the DC area. The hotel is very nice and is right on top of Crystal City Shops and is very close to the metro station and airport. The main things I did not like about this hotel is that they charge $18 a day for parking, $10 a day for internet access, had no refrigerator or microwave in the room either. Also, there is really nothing to do in this area at night, because there are only a handful of really nice restaurants and there is mostly just office space and hotels in the area.

“Great hotel, convenient to metro”

I choose this Marriott due to its location to the metro. It was super easy because it was connected underground to the metro and a mall. My kids loved it because of the large indoor pool, my husband and son loved the exercise room and sauna. The exercise room had the newest equipment. It did have underground parking that was very convenient to the hotel elevators. There was a daily parking charge, but you have in/out privileges. It was only a 5 minute drive into DC. We would definitely stay here again. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were extremely clean as you would expect for this brand hotel, and I got a great end of week deal on their web site.
