Stayed overnight in order to catch a flight early in the morning. Unfortunately the free shuttle did not operate at 5:00 a.m. and so we had to pay for a cab...but we did use the Park Here Fly There package and received free indoor parking for our 5-day trip. The return trip by the courtesy van from the airport to the hotel went very well...they run every 15 minutes without having to make a phone call.

The girl at the conceriege desk was fabulous. She was very helpful with directions, maps, and took time to answer all our questions...she is a real asset to that hotel.

The serivce in the restaurant in the bar was very slow on Saturday evening. However, the access to the Metro to get into DC was so convenient and safe.
We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going in and out of the airport.

I stayed at the Marriott Crystal City for business for two days while attending a conference at a nearby hotel. I chose this hotel for it's proximity to the metro, in addition to the fact that the metro was accessible w/out going outside. The only downside was that the walkway to the metro included some stairs without a ramp or elevator -- wouldn't have been a problem but for the fact that my husband and 15 mo. old were traveling with me so we had to literally pick up her stroller quite a few times.

The same walkway to the metro included several shops and restaurants, and Fashion Centre was only two stops away. (Certainly didn't mind when my husband decided to surprise me with some purchases!) The metro system in DC is ideal and very easy to use.

The hotel shuttle offers an easy option of getting back and forth to the airport. The front desk was very helpful when I thought I had lost my cell phone (turned out it fell out of my pocket on the shuttle.) They were courteous and took the time to radio each shuttle driver to see if they had found anything.

We did not use any of the facilities in the hotel, but did tour the hotel upon arrival -- the pool/fitness area seemed a good size and very clean. We ordered room service at one point, and we were happy with the service and quality of the food.

If there was anything I would say I disliked, it would probably be the price I paid per night ($313) -- but it's somewhat unfair to complain about that when it's reimbursed!

Overall, we had a good experience, and my husband found plenty to do nearby while I spent my days at the conference. Whether I would stay here again would depend on the nightly price for the room.

“Excellent Hotel! Went There For My Uncle's Funeral.”

On Saturday, July 7, my family and I went down to Arlington to attend my uncle's funeral. After the funeral Mass at nearby Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, we went over to the Marriott for a special memorial luncheon. We did not stay overnight at this hotel.

The food and the service was just great! Unfortunately, the banquet room didn't have enough tables for everybody. Luckily, my cousin found an empty table for both me and my two brothers to sit at.

This is hotel has an excellent location. The church, Arlington Cemetery and the Pentagon are not that far from the hotel. And right around the corner is the entrance to the Washington Subway.

If I could afford to, I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I will never forget my stay there for as long as I live; even though it was ony for one day!

“Wonderful Staff/Great Location”

We stayed at the hotel from November 26th to December 3rd. I had a business meeting in DC and this hotel is very convenient to the Metro which I took everywhere. The staff was wonderful and very accomodating. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone traveling in this area.

There were alot of events that took place during the week. On the first night of arrival it was just my supervisor and myself and we arrived very late. We asked where we could get dinner and the desk clerk pointed down the street with directions. We started out the door and there were two men who starting approaching us and since we were both women, strange area we went back inside the hotel and told the clerk we were not comfortable. He assured us this was a very safe area and he would be glad to walk us to the restaurant. He did walk us down the next street and when we felt comfortable we thanked him and had no other problems. On Thursday night, there was a disturbance in the room down the hall (10th floor) and I called the front desk when I heard glass breaking. The front desk informed me that security had been alerted and was on their way. They were there within moments and the police and took care of whatever issue this man had. Again, I did not feel threatened in anyway. This could have happened anywhere beyond any hotels control but they were there immediatly to respond to the problem. The next day my husband was tired of falling off the bed (our room had 2 full size beds) so we asked to be moved to a king bed which they did on the 11th floor. We dropped off our belongings and headed out for the entire day to sightsee. When we returned to our room it was filled with a horrible smell of paint thinner, and paint and glue. We called the front desk and they were at our door witin 15 minutes to move us to another room and gave us a voucher for a free breakfast.

We sat in the hottub a couple of nights and we were the only ones there. I know this was an off time of year but it was very nice to have the pool/hottub area to ourselves.

This hotel is very nice and the staff is excellent. We will be staying at this hotel again when we return to DC.

The only negative thing about this hotel is the price of their breakfast ($15.00) and there is not many choices on the weekends but that is still less expensive to stay in Virginia than in the DC area.

“A Comfortable Hotel”

Crystal City Marriott at Reagan National Airport

Nov 20, 2007

The Marriott Crystal city at Regan Airport. Hmmm . . . here is quick review:

Pros: Room was nice and in good repair. Bed was probably the most comfortable we’ve ever encountered in a hotel. Water pressure was great in the shower. When we needed extra towels and tissues, they were provided within ten minutes with a smile. Employees were extremely helpful. We indicated ahead of time on the Internet what complimentary items we would like to have (extra pillows and lotion). Both were provided in our room when we arrived, and the lotion was contained in a very nice gift pack. Bath and Bodyworks products were provided routinely in our room. The concierge was helpful. The front desk staff members were friendly and efficient. The pool and exercise room were very nice. Airport shuttle driver was extremely courteous and friendly.

Cons: No towel racks were provided near the sink or the shower/tub unit. Where were we to put our towels? The bathroom sink was in one area and well lighted. The toilet and shower/tub were in another area. The only light in the toilet/shower/tub room was in the shower. (Reading light could be better.) Internet service was available at $9.95 a pop. Based on previous reviews, we requested a room at the end of the hall, so noise wouldn’t be a factor. At times, we could hear some noise outside our room, but it wasn’t bad at all. The room was small but clean. There was no refrigerator, and soda pop from the machine was $2. Airport shuttle was dirty inside.

Interesting note: There was a book entitled, "Spirit to Serve," which was autographed by Bill Marriott. It contained uplifting stories of Marriott employees. A nice touch. The nightstand also contained a Gideon Bible and a copy of the Book of Mormon.

Overall, a very comfortable stay. We slept well and experienced good service.
