“Great for tourists and business travelers on a budget”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2009

I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. They need to post directions to the place from the Metro on the website. I had to call for them. But it's a 6-7 min walk from Rosslyn Metro station, located in a quiet neighborhood of apt buildings and office towers. Although it's nearby to a highway, there wasn't excessive noise. I found the area safe and unthreatening also at night walking back from the Metro. The rooms are large and very clean. They include a nice size mini-fridge for storing snacks and drinks, a microwave and coffee maker with set ups. Free coffee avail in the lobby too. Free (wireless) internet, flat screen tv and plenty of storage space. Indoor swimming pool is open limited hours morning and evening. Also, plenty of extra sockets (in the base of the lamps) for plugging/charging electronic devices, very nice touch. The front desk staff are friendly and accommodating, I don't expect them to be tour guides, there is plenty of tourist info in the lobby. There's also an Italian restaurant adjacent to the property, with pizza, subs, dishes for dine-in or take away. Otherwise, downtown Rosslyn is a short walk with a few local restaurants and a CVS Pharmacy for convenience items and snacks for the fridge. It's a ~10 min Metro ride to downtown DC. Good luck getting a hotel room downtown for the price of this place.

I have no hesitation recommending this hotel for families visiting DC and business travelers on a budget.

We chose to stay here for three nights after checking several Trip Advisor ratings. The hotel was an excellent choice, very clean, a helpful, friendly staff, and was close to the metro. Given the price along with the free parking, this has to be the best value for anyone traveling to the Washington, DC area. The hotel was located in an excellent neighborhood adjacent to Arlington Cemetery. In fact, we walked to the Iwo Jima Memorial and then through the entire cemetery to see all of the historic sites. Using the Metro, we were able to reach all the points of interest. I travel often, and I stay in many high end hotels, but I must say the BW Iwo Jima Rosslyn offers very good accommodations at an excellent price.

This was a great choice for someone who is unable to spend a lot of $$ on hotels. I usually will not spend more than $80 / night but knew that would be hard to find near DC. I ended up spending $160 / night, which was one of the cheapest hotels I could find. It was a short walk to buses, Arlington cemetary and restaurants. Garaged parking was free and they even let us leave the car there the whole day that we checked out so that we could get in some more sight-seeing. Friendly and clean, I would definitely stay here again!

I was impressed by the service, cleanliness and convenience of this property. A bit difficult to find, but had FREE parking and was a 4 block walk to the Metro. Swimming pool looked nice but I didn't have time to use it, although the hours were very accommodating (open early and late). Bed was comfortable with high quality sheets. Very close to Georgetown, if you're a walker and the weather is nice. Restaurant ok if you like pizza, wraps, simple calorie-laden fare and nothing else open.

This is a good hotel if you are on a budget and want a quiet and safe place to stay. The Rosslyn Metro Station is within walking distance from the hotel, around two or three blocks away. We were here with a tour group and didn't have to worry about transportation, but we did stay an extra three days on our own and got around easily using the Metro system into D.C. The only exception was a cab to the Georgetown area and to and from the airport. Cab fares were very reasonable. You can take the Metro from the airport to the Rosslyn Station, but we chose not to because of the walk with luggage. For just sightseeing though, it is easy to use the Metro. The blue line from the Rosslyn Metro Station will take you to the Smithsonian Station which is right on the National Mall. As for the hotel, make sure you ask for an inside corridor room which is in the newer part. They do have some rooms that open to the outside but none of our group was in that area. The rooms were very clean and maintained well. While we were gone most of the time sightseeing, this hotel served as a good place to rest for the next day, and the rates are much lower than the downtown D.C. area and very close to Arlington Cemetery.

After trying to find a reasonable hotel in DC I gave up.. This hotel was 120$ and free parking..whichis hard to find in DC. Rooms were very nice and the staff very helpful with ddirections etc. Would recommend this hotel when visiting DC.

We got a great deal on a 24 sales at hotels.com; however, the hotel said that if we called with the rate, they would match it and we would get airline miles. So I would recommend that. However, even without the sale price, it was a great value! Free parking and our room was clean, had a flat screen TV, microwave/coffeemaker/small fridge. The location was a short walk to the Rosslyn Metro and the Iwo Jima memorial. It is a little difficult to find as others have noted, its actually on Fairfax drive, not Arlington Blvd. Overall, I would recommend without hesitation if you are looking for affordable, clean, simple accomodations.
