“FIVE NIGHTS”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

I have been staying at Best Westerns to accumulate free nights. I do not see much acknowledgement of status in that program. We stayed at this hotel as it was close to Arlington National Cemetery where we inurnred our parents, July 30. Overall our party of six occupied three rooms. Everyone had some sort of difficulty at your hotel.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Close to metro and Iwo Jima Memorial. Within a few blocks of grocery store to pick up a few things to put in refrigerator in room. The restaurant on the premises was very good and very affordable. The room was small but clean and all we needed since we didn't stay in the room that much anyway. I would stay here again.

Messed up our reservation, had to leave a night early, no breakfast and the absolute worst Wi-Fi on the planet!!!!! Tried to use miles for our 1st night and pay for the rest. Front desk failed to tell us that because we were doing that we had to check out after night one and check back in. 3 days into trip, only after going to front desk to ask for a blanket, were we told that they didn't have us in the hotel and that we were a no show for the stays that we were paying cash for! Zero apologies, no sympathy, just held to their story that they told us and it was our fault....completely the customers fault.....Would NEVER stay at this hotel again and will probably look for another chain to be loyal to!

Somehow a 2nd window opened on my tablet while making reservations and the wrong date was entered and booked. I didn't realize this til it was too late. The main 800 number was very nice, explained happens from time to time, was sure the hotel would credit at least a portion of what I paid to the dates we were actually going. She sounded both surprised disappointed when after 15minsshe tells me they would do nothing. I realize it was my mistake but we were still planning on going for two days-we were billed for one. Now had to cancel. How is that good business??

Very comfortable and enjoyable visit. Car park free and very easy trip into Washington DC. Plenty of good quality eating premises in the near vicinity. Very accommodating and friendly staff, always there to provide good quality service.

For the price point (~$150/night) and location (about four blocks from Rosslyn metro), this is a great place to stay when visiting DC but not wanting to deal with traffic and premium pricing. Rooms on the upper floors outside are very large and easier to access than the traditional interior of the hotel. Staff were friendly and professional throughout. Even a gluten free pizza joint attached to the hotel which had better than expected fare for a hole in the wall type place. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors outside are very large and easier to access than the traditional interior...

Good location, within easy reach of Metro and Arlington Cemetery.
Good independent cafe/restaurant serving fairly cheap breakfast and dinner.
Good size room though bathroom was small with no area to place toiletries.
Very much a motel style layout of the site. Our room, 101, had a lot of noise from the swimming pool. Had to wait many minutes for the hot water coming from the shower, an expensive waste of precious resources.
Lack of towels when visiting the pool.
Some staff very helpful, others with a very laid back approach.
Good free car parking, some of which was underground.
Hotel in need of an upgrade as the rooms were very dated and required some decoration.
