“Upscale, with excellent staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Would stay here again. Stayed here on a Saturday night, taking the complimentary shuttle (after long wait), from Reagan National. Check-in was impressive, with a very nice lobby area and extremely friendly and professional check-in staff ... made us feel like this was a very high end hotel. Very nice view from our room, with the Pentagon and Capitol in view. Walking distance to the Pentagon Memorial, along with Costco and the mall. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was not an enjoyable experience, with it being absolutely packed with people, not enough seating, messy food areas, and the majority of breakfast plates dirty (usually dried on egg).

Quiet, clean, comfortable suites with updated décor & furnishings.

• View Pentagon (& Air Force Memorial) & freeways (I395) from room window -- glowing car lights make lovely ruby diamond jeweled necklace at night.

• Free Washington National Airport (DCA) shuttle (approximately 10 minute drive -- about 3 miles (4.8 km)).

• Reliable internet/WiFi.

• Consistently good-quality Residence Inn (RI) breakfast in spacious gatehouse -- full to overflowing at times. (Always hope for *additional* healthy options such as: Greek yoghurt, whole grain breads, variety of different fruits, and so on.)

• Evening social (Mon., Tue., Wed.) good light evening meals & sinful deserts; try to "walk off" with after dinner stroll. (Plenty of lovely areas to explore -- especially during spring blossom season.)

• Chipotle Mexican Grill -- a bit over 1 mile (1.6 km) on Crystal Drive -- is a healthy, budget-conscious eatery for days when RI isn’t serving dinner. (One abundant burrito bowl is easily 2 meals.) Numerous eateries within a mile to suit various palettes & budgets.

• Harris Teeter grocery -- approximately 10-minute walk up Army Navy Drive (0.3 miles (0.48 km)) – if you prefer to prepare your own meals in your RI kitchenette.

• Three elevators keep you moving during breakfast & dinner rush-hours, so you don’t wait long to land on your floor (17-story building).

• Comfortable seated business center for printing work documents, boarding passes, etc..

• Small exercise room with working (older) equipment.

• Convenient location for business or pleasure; access any site in the city by underground/ subway: walk 2 blocks to Metro (Pentagon City Station -- yellow & blue lines) on S. Hayes St.

• $23 underground self-parking.

Another *superb*, reliable RI ideal for holiday or business travelers – for short or long stays.

One of our better stays in the DC area. We were given a room on one of the top floors overlooking the Pentagon. The room was very spacious with a small kitchenette as standard with all residence inns. Beds were comfortable and bath was clean with housestaff doing a very good job of cleaning our room everyday. The exercise room and pool leave a little bit to be desired since there were only 2 treadmills and a few free weights and the pool was very small so we didn't use them at all. Instead, we jogged over to the Long Bridge Park which was new and very nice - highly recommended. The staff were helpful and friendly the whole time we were there. The dining area was large and they did not disappoint for breakfast with a huge selection of food that changes daily. This has got to be one of the better breakfast within the Residence Inn chain. The Metro is 2 blocks away in a shopping mall. There is a shuttle or it's a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. I was able to park along the streets over the weekend and at night after 6 pm for free in front of the hotel in case anyone wants to save on parking. Even though the hotel is located nearby in Arlington, there is usually traffic on I-395 going to and from the Capitol so that is something to consider. Overall a great stay and an even better value.

Stayed for entire month of June for business. very nice rooms in convenient location and amenities were good. nice breakfast selection and free 3-drink happy hour made for a friendly lobby. breaksfast buffet, small dinner from mon thru wed., and happy hour push value to excellent.

must knock off a point for some details that need refinement: the front desk was friendly but not all were equally trained - i had someone who apparently didn't know how to properly input my rewards number (i have since been credited for my stay). despite being part of a business group who had rooms blocked off months in advance, i was initially told the only room available was for the physically challenged; fortunately the manager took over after he saw my displeasure and assured me they had an abundant number of regular rooms. additionally, the pool area is monitored by a few miserable teenagers who clearly wish they were somewhere else. also, my airconditioning broke the first night. it was repaired within 10 minutes of my making the service call, but a week later the entire hotel was without airconditioning for nearly an entire day. finally, the common areas near the elevator on some floors reek of pet deodorizer.

finally, the shuttle for the immediate area is nice, but they should also consider an occasional shuttle to and from Old Town Alexandria, where many of their guests end up going for dinner.

Great stay!! View of the Pentagon was fantastic. Full kitchen and dishes is great. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Hotel shuttle is very convenient. Casual 10 minute walk to the metro. Breakfast exceeded expectations and is certainly an upgrade to the typical continental style. Terrific value!!! Highly recommended.

We stayed there with lots of relatives coming from all parts of the country! What a fantastic hotel! We got a 2 bedroom suite which was very clean and roomy! The morning breakfast (which is free) was like a high priced brunch! Easy walk to the metro and the Pentgon! But they have a shuttle which will drive you anywhere within a mile! Extremely helpful front desk. Huge hotel but felt like home!
