“Wonderful Service Even When Full”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

After a massive storm went through DC and dropped power for more then 1 million people, we called up Residence Inn a few hours later as we had no power and they did. Annie at the front desk was gracious to my wife over the phone and explained the fee structure in detail when I arrived early in the morn. My wife and 8 day old newbord arrived seperate from me and the front securoty guard took her stuff to our room and accepted no tip. The rooms are clean, with full kitchen suite, and sofas have pull out beds. Furthermore, the place was completely full mainly with July 4th guests and locals without power. Staff was kind, upbeat and positive. I never stayed at a residence inn and never thought highly of it until now. Thanks!

Room Tip: You might want to ask for room facing pentagon for a better view.

We flew into Reagan National Airport just two stops from this hotel. It is very convenient to all the main attractions in DC. It's on the blue and yellow lines for the local WMTA rail line just one stop from Arlington cemetary, and two stops from the National Mall. You can actually see the Mall right across the Potomoc as well as the Pentagon and Arlington. We even took the rail down to Alexandria and caught a boat to Mt Vernon. No car needed!

The hotel itself is pretty basic. We did find that the rooms were generally okay with a few flaws. Someone had slammed the door so hard it left a hole in the drywall, and the smoke detector was hanging by its wires. We notified the desk and they did offer us another room. Otherwise the rooms were clean and good enought for our purposes. Surprisingly, there was no noise from the outside world. The airport and the highway were very lose, but you would not know it. The pool on site is not very deep, more for small children. The staf is great! Very helpful and attentive. I would rate them five stars! Breakfast is included with your stay which was good. Other dining is pretty limited in the area other than the shopping mall a couple of blocks over. Again, a quick train ride and you are right in the middle of a lot o restaurants. This is not a place for those seeking nightlife. Most of the guests were military personnel or others visiting the Pentagon across the road or Homeland security.

Overall, a nice stay. Nothing luxurious, but a good place to rest your weary family at the end of the day.

Super convenient hotel, rooms are large with kitchen and very new and clean. Excellent staff! Breakfast is free although not as good as Embassy Suites and does not have a bar to hang out in at night.

All family suites overlooking the Pentagon across the expressway. Excellent location, there is a mall almost in the back yard only one block distance, only five minutes away from Arlington Cemetery and 10 -15 minutes from Smithsonians, White House etc. The hotel has great views of the Ronald Reagan airport, Lincoln memorial and Washington monument. Breakfast was complimentary and great though egg station was missing. Internet access is also complimentary. There is a hotel shuttle which provides a mile long service.

Room Tip: Definitely a corner room overlooking the Pentagon on the highest floor

I've always liked this hotel and have been staying here off and on for the last 15 years. I was excited to hear that they had remodeled. The breakfast room is OK but it seems harder to find a clean table now than before and the buffet line is more congested. The changes to my room were not an improvement, but then I had a handicap accessible room so maybe the others are laid out differently. Access to the window was blocked by a desk making it hard to open and close the blinds. The bathroom counter top barely had room for my toiletry bag (surely a variance for better wheelchair access). The chairs for the "dining" area faced away from the TV and there was no room to flip them to the other side. To top it off there was no airconditioning until midnight and that is an issue when it is June in DC. No discounts or accomodations were offered other than a recommendation to go to the community room where it was less hot. The shuttle that takes you anywhere within a mile is godsend on rainy days. Harris Teaters is right up the street and is an excellent grocery store.

Room Tip: If you don't need a handicap accessable room make sure to ask for one that isn't. Higher up...

Excellent location, there is a mall almost in the back yard only one block distance, five minutes from Arlington Cementery and no more than 10 from other attractions, great service, parking (not included), breakfast, if you want to visit the Pentangon you can walk from the hotel to there.

Right across from the Pentagon, great for families. Large rooms with kitchens, everything appeared brand new. Indoor pool with a lifeguard, which is a nice perk.
