“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

Booked this hotel on Hotwire and got a very good rate - £230 for 3 nights for a suite with a king size bed. Stayed here from 26/04/2012 to 29/04/2012 after driving down from New York. Arrived late (around midnight) and was checked in promptly by very friendly check in staff. Hotel room was excellent with excellent facilities. Room appeared to have been recently refurbished. Room service was also excellent. Complimentary breakfast also included was a reasonable standard. Pool was nice. Great location as it was close to a shopping mall and one of the stops on the blue line 'hop on hop off' bus route. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stay here often on business and I've always been impressed by the friendly staff, breakfast and manager's receptions but now that the hotel has been recently renovated it's really a great place to stay. It's great place to stay on business or with a family to see the sights because of the great location, proximity to shopping, restaurants, the Metro as well as the pool.

Great location. Pool was nice. Well priced for a weekend rental. Our room was very nicely remodeled and extremely clean but the hallways and parking garage are in need of renovations. The hot tub was out of order when we were there too. All in all, I would return.

The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations, so there is an odor of paint and other miscellaneous construction smells in the hallways---fortunately these odours are not present in the actual rooms. What can I say about this hotel---it's great :)

The rooms are nicely furnished and modern, bathroom is spacious, full kitchenette and flat screen tv--my fiance and girls also loved it.

Cocktail hour was great--and another pleasant surprise...dinner was included!
Everyone loved the apple caramel custard? pie.

Unfortunately the whirlpool was out of service and the surrounding area around the pool was a little gross because of other people's hair but the girls had a blast splashing around.

Will definitely be booking here on my next trip to DC.

We took the kids to DC to see the sights. Our criteria for hotels was 1-a pool, 2- near a metro stop. The Residence Inn in Arlington had both so we booked it for 5 nights. It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
First off, everyone was very friendly. I met another New Englander there and we agreed people are not this friendly at home. Is it southern hospitality? Are all hotels in the south like this?
Second, we booked a double room because there are 5 of us and we didn't want to squish up. We got a corner suite that was really big with a kitchen, a living room and two baths. It was so nice that I felt suspicious that this was worth more than the quoted price of $320/night. I went back to the desk to see if there was some mistake. Not only was this the right room, but breakfast everyday and dinner on three nights was included. Condsidering what it takes to feed a family of 5 in restaurants this made our stay very reasonable.
The breakfast buffet has everything: eggs, waffles, sausage, yogurt, cereal, fruit, bagels ect. The dinner is a fixed menu so you have to eat what they are serving, but I liked it all.
Third, the pool was on the small side. Not good for an adult swimming laps, but shallow and good for kids. There was a life guard on duty, a hot tub and small fitness room.
What my kids liked best was the pool table in the lobby. Couldn't get enough of that.
Fourth, metro is two blocks away. Next to the metro is an enormous mall that sells anything you might need and has several restaurants.
Overall, we were very comfortable and would be happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: Corner suites are huge.

I consider myself very lucky to have stayed at this hotel for my first trip to Washington, D.C. We had 4 nights in a room with a view on the 11th floor. How many rooms have a large refrigerator, cooktop, microwave and diswasher in the room...all stainless, too! Great looking room...more like a studio apartment. Wonderful breakfasts in the morning. The metro was only a couple blocks away so a car rental wasn't needed. The staff were friendly, helpful and happy! Loved that so much. In the lobby area they have wonderful conversation areas, and small nooks that seat 4 to 6 people where you can watch a program together on your own TV. They have a pretty nice fitness center and pool and the business center was very handy. Congratulations on a successful renovation!

We took a short trip toDC for break with kids. Location is a great spot outside of the district with easy access via the metro. The hotel is less than2 blocks to metro &the Pentagon City Mall. I am a pretty loyal Marriott customer and most always pleased with all their properties, however, on this one I sit in the middle. The pros are nice room with a view of the city, breakfast included, a suite room, and great price compared to downtown choices. The negatives are dirty lobby, dirty elevators, staff using the elevators frequently with you. The front desk folks were helpful and knowledge ful of the area. Parking is extra yet still reasonable with the room rate. The hotel doesn't offer in room wireless. Breakfast codices were typical and ample for a business traveler or family with kids. Over all I would say a 2.5 out of 5.

Room Tip: I called prior to arrival asking the front desk for a city view. They were great to offer o city vie...
