“Pround to be an American moment!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

This is an absolute must see. The changing of the guard is a pretty quick ritual but the work/timing/accuracy/precision is mind boggling.
We purchased the train ride inside the visitors center and they time the 3 drop-offs perfectly. They stop at JFK's eternal flame and give you 15 min. Then on to the Tomb of the Unknown Solider just in time for the changing of the Guard then on to the home of the Lee's. You can actually stay at any given spot for as long as you like and catch another bus but the alotted time frame worked great for us. The train tour was 8.00 per person.

“If you do not do anything else in DC, do this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

A friend I served with went on to Old Guard, the unit that has this duty. I had never had the chance to see the guard change before and it is a very moving ceremony. Every veteran should see it once and those who have never served will come away with a much better feel for the bond those of us that have served and those that still do share.

“Standing watch over their fallen mate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

A visit to the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery is one of those experiences that you will never forget. An active duty soldier stands watch over the tomb of an unknown warrior 24/7/365!! Apart from the pomp and ceremony of the uniforms and the drill, the immensely powerful symbolism of the contemporary servicemen standing watch over their fallen mate and the respect they demonstrate is overwhelming. It is the highlight of any visit to Washington, DC - you will have missed something most valuable and very moving if you do not see it.

The guard is changed every hour with great precision. The guard commander explains what it is all about (and does a great job of that!!). Access is superb. The only downside is that some people seem not understand the simple request for "Silence, please" during the event. Sad really.

“Beautiful this time of year (fall)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

The area is taken care of well and clean. They put a lot of pride in everything they do in this entire area. Plan a whole day for this, Arlington Cemetery and the Women's Memorial. Plenty of bus and transportation options working the area.

“THIS IS A MUST SEE IN WASHINGTON, DC.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

The precision of the changing of the guard on every hour and the great dignity of the event makes this one of the most accessible and emotional experiences you can have in DC. Do not miss this if you are going to Arlington Cemetery. For disabled people,
there is a side location with access and good viewing of this event.
