“Moving experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Although this place is packed with tourists, you would never know it from listening. The crowd maintains a respectful hush while watching the guard on duty go through his paces. The ampitheater inside is worth a look as well. A MUST SEE while in DC.

“Heavy on the heart....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

It really is very heart wrenching to know there are so many that are unknown, I think this is an amazing tribute to all that have given up their lives for our freedom. Being here has really made me even more grateful for all the men and women who have given their lives for our freedom.

“Reverent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We were very fortunate the day we visited Arlington National Cemetery. We were visiting a couple of days after Memorial Day and were treated to quite the reenactment at that Civil War Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Period costumes and old musket salutes were featured. Close to noon, we ventured over to the main Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and a were just in time for the epic changing of the guard. Totally unexpected and quite the incredible honor to witness the change over.

Viewing the changing of the guard is something everyone should see. It's very impressive and an honor to watch these men guard the Unknown.

“Solemn tribute to fallen Americans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This is a GREAT tribute to Americans who have given their very last measure to protect and defend what is exceptional about the United States of America. For our Allies and friends, this represents what American Service Members are willing to do and how far they will go for all of us. The SOLEMN and SOULFUL setting within Arlington National Cemetery is a DO NOT MISS experience. The changing of the guards (who are an ELITE and select group) is quite moving -- you will either cry or have tears in your eyes. Then, READ the written English text around the ceiling of the amphitheater, after you see the changing of the guards, here. REMEMBER, please, it is a CEMETERY to fallen, unidentified heroes. PLEASE, while there, give it the respect due by being quiet or speaking in HUSHED voices.
