“Lovely Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2008

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dulwich Manor this past weekend. It was beautiful and relaxing. Our room was comfortable and the bed was fantastic. Because it is off the road, it was very quiet at night. Jessica made us a great breakfast, and she was very pleasant. We loved it here! Watch out for the turtles crossing the driveway. We looked at many other properties in the area, and this was the best by far. It's in a different class than the other places nearby -- almost like sleeping at your fancy grandma's house -- in a good way. We would definitely stay there again.

The Dulwich Manor was absolutely beautiful. My brother lives in Amherst and we stayed there because it was close. The owners are normally closed during the last week of December, but they let us stay there anyway. We had the entire place to ourselves. I stayed in the Scarborough Room and the bed was the most comfortable that I've ever slept on. If you are looking for a bed and breakfast in the VA area, this one is gorgeous.

My husband and I stayed at the Dulwich Manor for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was perfect. The home is a large restored mansion built in 1812. The rooms are all absolutely beautiful and newly renovated. The grounds are also lovely. The innkeeper knew we were arriving but was not seen when we arrived so we just let ourselves in, put our bags in our room and later went out to dinner. We communicated by cell phone with the innkeeper who told us to feel as if the manor was our home. We felt as if we had the huge mansion almost all to ourselves and that we were trusted guests!

The innkeeper was there the next morning and was extremely hospitable. We had a fabulous breakfast. It was my first bed and breakfast experience and I was a little wary. It was wonderful.

Stayed at this Victorian B&B a few years ago and have been raving about it ever since. Absolutely delightful rooms that are individually themed. All are large and clean, and the private baths are immaculate and wonderfully appointed. There are some nice touches that make you feel as if you're staying in a luxury hotel, such as terry cloth bathrobes and bedside clock radios. Lovely views from all windows.
There was a wedding that had just taken place at the B&B on the day that we arrived, which says alot about how picturesque the place is.
Room rates were quite reasonable for what you get. Breakfast was great, too. The innkeepers were quite charming as well.
