Made reservation two days ahead for a party of 9 for a Friday evening at 6 pm. When we arrived at 5:55 pm we were told that there were a lot of people wanting to be seated when they opened for dinner and they forgot to check the reservation list - so we couldn't be seated at our reserved time. We decided to wait since it would have been difficult to find seating at the dinner hour in another restaurant in town. We were finally seated at 6:45 pm and our food was served around 7:45 pm. One of our guests ordered the smashed potatoes as her side, however, she was served green beans. When the waitstaff realized the mistake she checked with the kitchen and they were out of the potatoes......at 7:50 pm. We are locals and have enjoyed The Briar Patch for many, many years. However, more recently it seems that those running the restaurant are very young, inexperienced folks who make great waitstaff but bad management decisions - such as forgetting to check the reservations list. Consequently for us, we had one very tired child and 3 very tired elderly guests which put a damper on our evening. We will return to The Patch but will definitely double-check our reservations before arriving.
