The hotel itself is pretty decent. The staff were one of the most non hospitable staffs I've come across in many years of travel. I am a platinum member at this hotel and I was shocked at how I was talked to or really ignored on a level I've never experienced before. This was not just one person but every person at the front desk. When I checked in I asked for a parking pass/ card, the guy looked at me and seemed very annoyed that I would ask for a pass. It was that way the whole time there, I'll never go back.

I felt like a queen for a day. This hotel is very clean, luxurious and accommodating. The restaurant has excellent food. We had walked King Street and couldn't decide on a place to eat down there. We were too tired so went back to the hotel. Ate at the Railstop Gastropub. Meal was excellent. I had the Medsclun Salad and a crabcake sandwich. Very tasty. In fact I loved the salad so much, I have bought all the ingredients and plan to try to copy it at home. The sandwich was very, very good. So, thank you to the hotel and restaurant for making our stay very comfortable and nice.

We stayed a the Crowne Plaza for two nights, as a base for visiting Washington. It is very well situated for travel to DC, and even better located for access around the beautiful town of Alexandria.
Th hotel itself, from the outside, is not the most attractive of buildings, and doesn't blend sympathetically into the surroundings. Inside, it's functional and professional - although it was irritating that i was unable to access their wi-fi in our room, despite having signed-up as an IHG rewards club member. There is free public wi-fi access in the foyer.
Our room was large, bright and airy, and came with a coffee maker. All employees we met were friendly and efficient. It's a pleasant walk from the hotel to the town centre, and the water frontage just down the block is exquisite.
A perfectly adequate hotel, and a good base for visiting the area

Great location for visiting Alexandria... Close to everything and several beautiful parks behind the hotel which overlooks the Potomac. Bonus was microwave and refrigerator in the room which I love! Not sure if standard so check before coming....

I realize this is Washington DC, but after spending four nights in four different hotels, this was the most expensive and the poorest quality. There was no luggage rack, I slipped in the shower because the rubber mat failed to grip the tub, the sheets were like sandpaper so I couldn't sleep, the AC/heating is remotely controlled so there was only one fan speed - high, so the room was freezing with the AC on or hot with the AC off, no tea offered with the "coffee " maker, no WiFi service which is not free despite efforts of reception to get a connection and finally admitted that the connection capacity can not accommodate all users in the hotel, computers in lobby had two printers without toner, there is no free temporary parking to inquire about vacancies. The room was small, the closet tiny, the bathroom only passable in quality. Definitely not worth 320 dollars per night.

Good hotel for visiting both Alexandria and Washington. Room was big and comfortable. Nice staff. We just spend a night there, but we would repeat. Breakfast was also good, with different things to eat.

Oscar, the restaurant manager is the best. So attentive and helpful. He even got 4 of us ladies a table after our dinner in an adjacent dining area that was being set up for breakfast, so that we could play some games on the night of our arrival. He was in the breakfast room each morning to greet us and see if all was OK and it surely was.
Rooms are excellent. We had a fine wide view of the Potomac River and all was immaculately clean. Beds very comfortable. Also close to the subway that will take you all over DC. There is a hotel shuttle that will take you to the subways station about 7 blocks from the hotel.
There is no pool or exercise room, but when you are in The District, who needs it?
The location is quiet and reserved, the ambiance wonderful and also about 7 blocks away is the wharf with all kinds of shopping and eating and wonderful art galleries etc. Try Gadsbys where Washington ate a few times and the wait staff still dress in colonial
attire.

Room Tip: I believe the odd numbered rooms have the river view.
