I've stayed here a few time and every time I do I just love it. It's very cool in design the staff are excellent & the rooms fabulous.
Alexandria is a gorgeous little town that wills you to just amble down its shops.

We stayed for four nights with our two kids and had a wonderful time. The hotel is lovely and the service is amazing. The staff, in particular Jennifer, went out of their way to make us feel like elite guests. This is the third Kimpton hotel I've stayed at, and frankly, I'm hooked and will try to stay at Kimpton hotels whenever possible. I scored a great deal by booking directly with Kimpton after getting one of the company's emails about a special sale. It's free to become a Kimpton member and totally worth it as you get free wifi as well as a credit towards raiding the mini bar. My kids loved it at this hotel and appreciated the gift bag that they each received upon check in. Only bad thing that happened to us was that our borrowed goldfish died right before we left. Poor Sunny (our name for him). I highly recommend this hotel.

Spent 2 nights at the hotel, with a room on the 2nd floor. Extremely 'funky' decor, good size and all the amenities you would need. Room, hotel and area was extremely quiet late at night, so you should be guaranteed a peaceful sleep.
The location of the hotel is also good, with the option of many places to eat within walking distance nearby. If you have a room only deal, the hotel provides free tea/coffee in the mornings, or there is the option of a Starbucks just 2 blocks away.
Access into the centre of Washington is also easy via public transport or taxi - the hotel have all the maps you need - just ask the staff at the hotel who are extremely friendly and helpful!

Stayed during a family visit to Alexandria and truly enjoyed the Monaco. Every staff person was incredibly gracious and unfailingly helpful, the room was lovely, and while cozier than some, it had a large closet, plenty of drawers for unpacking clothes, and a nicely appointed bathroom. The hotel restaurant has fine fare (we were there for dinner and a breakfast), and there are so many other eating and shopping spots in every direction, to say nothing of the wonderful historic places and the architecture in Old Town. The hotel has its own decor vibe, and customer service vibe, that I think it just great.
