My husband and I were strong armed into staying here due to wedding party arrangements, but we don't want anyone else to inadvertently walk into the situation that we did. To begin, during our stay, two sets of our relatives were forced to leave in the middle of the night due to a bed bug infestation in their rooms on the 4th floor. Another relative killed a massive cockroach in her room on the 5th floor and discovered a pile of corn chips under the bedside table that had been left there by a previous tenant. She subsequently stayed up the rest of the night with her light on just in case more arrived.
Our room's bathroom was another story. To begin, the water went from nuke warm to scalding hot in zero to ten seconds (I kid you not- I turned the knob, moistened my hands, and went to rinse off only to jerk back so fast I ended up with water all over my front). The tiles in the tub were loose and looked like a few had been patched in. Our towel rack was crooked, and to make it worse, the drains backed up (again, I am serious here- after carefully adjusting the temperature so that I wouldn't scald myself, I splashed water on my face and slathered on face wash. Just as I was going to rinse the soap off, I felt a warm wash of water over my feet. I quick went to shut off the water with my eyes closed- oh yeah, I forgot, the knobs turned the opposite direction from what I am used too- and yelled for my husband to come mop up the water since my face was still covered in soap. I had to wait a minute or two with my eyes sealed shut before it drained enough to try again, this time with my husband standing behind me to make sure the drain didn't back up again). It was a blast, let me tell you. Also, the shower/tub stall was a real treat. You got to take a bath and a shower at the same time, due to the fact that half the water came from the shower head and the other half came from the faucet, so we had a nice foot bath in 4 inches of water while we washed our hair. To be fair, the drainage in the room right next to ours worked just fine, but still...
Overall, we do not recommend this hotel. Take note- this is not a corporately owned Holiday Inn. It is privately owned and allowed to continue to use the Holiday Inn name (we discovered this when we saw the business card of one of the managers). Truthfully, Holiday Inn should request their name back because this hotel does not meet normal, quality control standards and will leave a bad taste in your mouth and the urge to disinfect in your hearts. It may look okay in surface photos, but when you look closer, you may want to close your eyes.
Over all, it was not a good experience. Stay any where else but here.
