Where do I begin? I could go on and on. Our group of 3 stayed at the Executive Club Suites in Alexandria for 3 nights and then moved to the Embassy Suites. We had an awful time. The room itself wasn't too bad (although the mattresses do need to be replaced) but the shuttle service and general housekeeping service and attitude of the staff were awful. Every time we called for the shuttle or waited out front we were told "10-15 minutes". We waited an average of 45 minutes each time and sometimes longer. Only twice were we picked up within 10-15 min. The hotel is near nothing and too far to walk for the Old Town area (where all the shops & restaurants are) or the metro. You are at the mercy of their shuttle! One evening the shuttle picked us & another couple up in Old Town and then drove straight past the hotel because he had to pick up someone at the airport! We spent an added 45 minutes in the shuttle going to the airport and back! Our housekeeping was terrible. Raggedy towels with holes, did not leave us enough towels & washcloths for 3 people, did not leave enough toilet paper or kleenex and when we asked for them we were told "sorry, housekeeping left for the day" so we had to watch our use of toilet paper until the next day! Not enjoyable. The breakfast is so-so and in a dingy underground room with a TV but no windows. As soon as we could, we moved to another hotel. I would never go back. At the $180 a night we had to pay, I expected more.
