“Make sure you put in the address...this place was GREAT”

Days Inn Alexandria-South

I am soooo picky I read these reviews AFTER I paid for the hotel and was just sick. It was for myself and son and a room for my folks (77). I was VERY upset. I called Days Inn corporate office, they could not help. Once paid, that was it. I was SICK!

It got there and were were so shocked. Yes, it was a bit older BUT it was VERY nice and clean inside, both our rooms had very nice carpet (clean, too) and nice furniture (not new but very nice), nice TV, and we had a microwage and refrigerator (FREE) and my folks had that PLUS a little freezer! Everything was clean, bathrooms, and I absolutely loved the lotion. I kept hiding it so I'd get a new one each morning! :-) VERY nice. The only thing I had was the towels were a bit rough, but that's not anything to complain about...it is NOT a 5 star hotel (at which I have had rough towels, too!) It will be a nice experience and cheap for what you get.

The bathroom was clean. There was nothing wrong with it. I really think these reviews are regarding the other Days Inn there which I know is in a very bad part of town and has rough ones who stay there. This one on Richmond Highway (6100) was very, very nice and I had to apologize to the people when I was there. My folks were very pleased, too and we are actually rather hard to please. My son was really worried I'd throw a fit. BUT...I was very, VERY happy and would stay there again! PLEASE make sure you check the address. Oh, no bugs, roaches, etc. The pool looked nice and it was quiet. No noise and we were there Friday and Saturday nights. VERY happy and highly recommend it.

“Worst Motel Experience Ever”

I just don't know where to start with this place.

You can read some of my reviews and conclude that I'm not an eternal pessimist, but this place reeked.

The room was just dilapidated. Wall paper peeling and the worst part was the constant smell of liver cooking. It's the only way I know to explain it.

My wife, son and I stayed here for a D. C. vacation. I've stayed in Days Inn before but this puppy broke me from Days Inn.

I have to say; this motel was so bad that it's the primary reason my wife and I now own a timeshare.

Just say NO to this very rundown motel.

“It was okay!”

The place was alright. Needed a place to stay overnight. Paid $81 for the night. Check in/out was fast, elevator kinda of smell. Rooms were ok, nothing to write home about. Bathrooms were small, beds were ok, Rooms had a fridge and microwave. Location was ideal especially if you have a car. If you come out the parking lot and make a right onto the highway for the next 15 minutes there were numerous places to go shopping, whether its fast food(Micky Ds, KFC,Tacobell) or a restaurant (Mexican, Outback, Applebees), there are supermarkets, Target, Walmart. There were plenty of places, too many to name. They said they have free wireless internet but when we asked the man at the front desk, he wasnt much help when we asked him a question. He told us to call the helpdesk. He wasn't very knowledgeable at all.

“Not Much to Say...”

Days Inn Alexandria-South

Jan 20, 2007

This motel was average in every way. Although it seemed clean, it was a little rundown but not enough to complain about. I asked for extra blanket and towels, the maid was there within minutes. Krispy Kreme "hot" doughnut store right down the street. Well worth the drive ;)

“Broolyn Couple Says Excellent Inexpensive Stay”

Days Inn Alexandria-South

If you're looking for a clean, pleasant place to sleep during a site-seeing trip to DC, this was a very nice hotel. A quick city bus ride to the subway, a quick subway ride into DC. The hotel personnel were very helpful with everything. (Please tip the cleaning personnel, cuz we forgot!)

Breakfast with a bus load of high school kids was the worst thing to happen.......not bad at all.

We plan to stay in this hotel for future visits. The pool was out of season while we stayed, so we can't review that, but we hope to next time.

If you are looking for 4-Star accommodations, look elsewhere, but this Days Inn made for a clean place to sleep in DC.
