“Excellent- Great for the Price- Clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2008

Travelers from Michigan: 1 male(27), 1 female (28)
We had originally booked another hotel close to the Air Force base and when we arrived we were scared for out lives. We immediately canceled our reservations and began searching for a new hotel. We drove around all over D.C. looking for a cheap hotel nothing fancy in a decent and close area. We found it in Alexandria's Quality Inn. Nothing fancy but exactly what we were looking for. The rooms were always cleaned the bathroom was immaculate, and the staff was so pleasant, continental breakfast included, refrigerator and safe in your room. It was perfect and reasonably priced. After the experience we had with our first hotel selection their staffs' smiles were a welcomed site. The hotel is 5 minutes from the Metro to take you into downtown D.C. so easy. We didn't experience the pool because it was closed for the season already. There is also a great authentic Mexican restaurant as well as a Denny's walking distance and we always felt safe even at night to do so. Restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores were a mile or two down the road also. The areas culture consisted most of Mexican heritage, they were amazing people, friendly, courteous, and always helpful. This hotel's staff and the facility itself definitely helped make our trip a great inexpensive one.

  • Liked — Clean rooms, friendly staff, and location to downtown D.C.
  • Disliked — The pool was closed for the season and it was still really hot.

We loved our stay at this motel! The staff were very helpful, our room was always very well cleaned everyday. We could not hear our neighbors next door. We thought that it was a great place to stay and we are looking forward to staying there again next year!!!

  • Liked — I liked the fact that it was clean and quiet and nearby Ft. Belvoir
  • Disliked — The printer in the lobby was not working

Booked 5 rooms for a business trip. Hotel looked nothing like it did on the website. 4 of the 5 rooms had no heat (we were there in February). One of the rooms had a broken lock and anyone could walk in. When I went to the manager the next day, she was nasty, rude and lied to my face. One of the parties that traveled with us called to complain about the broken lock and she said she never spoke with them. Only way I could get out of staying there the next few nights was to complain the hotel looked nothing like the website. WENT TO COMFORT INN and had a much better experience.

IF YOU ARE A WOMAN TRAVELING PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE LOCK IN THE ROOM THAT YOU THROW ON ONCE YOU ARE INSIDE FOR EXTRA SECURITY. When I mentioned this, the manager claim that no hotels were using this method of security anymore. If the deadbolt is broken, how do you keep safe???????????????????

This is very close to Mt. Vernon. They have lots of rooms and a breakfast included. There were no rooms on the first floor and no elevator. Not a problem. Shakti was happy to carry our bags upstairs. If you want to spend a day at Mt. Vernon, this is a great place to stay.

This place is a nightmare. The facility looks nothing like the photo on the Trip Adviser screen. Its one of those seedy old run down "no tell motel's" that someone has bought on the cheap. Slapped a coat of paint on it and put up a new sign. The lobby slash dinning area was (give or take) about 20 feet square. We were scheduled to stay three nights; we left after one, and cancelled the second and third night. The rooms were drab, and travel worn. The sheets were so thin you could hold them up to the window and watch traffic go by. The bathroom was shabby, stained, broken tile, and moldy.

This hotel is just okay. The positives: price was reasonable considering that it is in the DC area, the staff was friendly and helpful, the pool was well maintained, they provided a a decent breakfast - cereal, waffles, fruit, juice etc - in the morning, and the room had most of the amenities that we look for while travelling (iron, ironing board, hair dryer, etc.). The negatives: the room smelled like a stale hotel room, the room was worn, the air conditioner barely cooled off the room, beds were not very comfortable, every door and molding and fixture didn't fit the way that they were supposed to, and the paint had been slopped on and was mostly still there. While this hotel was a little less expensive than others in the area, I don't think that it was worth it.
