4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2009

Location is very good with transportation provide to METRO and Airport. Great for sightseeing and business. Breakfast is provided and the staff is very resposive and eager to assist you. We have been using this location for over 11 years and are highly impressed with service.

We chose this location so that we would be close to the National Cemetery, as my father was being intermed there. The front desk staff was not cheerful and they acted as though they did'nt enjoy their job. I had to probe them for ammentities, as they werent forthcomeing at all. No one there went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. After checking in I had to call the frnt desk and request the roll away bed that they were so insistant upon chargeing me for; they wont allow 3 in a queen bed, though my youngest always sleeps with Mom and Dad when we are in a strange environment; leaving my older two to share the second queen bed in the room. The iron was missing so I called the front desk and they never sent one up. After several hours I went and found the maids in their basement gathering room. They spoke no English, I'm multi lingual but they didnt understand any of the languages I spoke. I used my hands for the ironing motion until they figured out what I needed; they were the most empathetic. Our room was non smokeing but the hall was filled with the smoke from surrounding rooms, putting my children asmtha on alert. Bathroom was old. The bedding was old and worn out. One bed sheet had holes while one bed spread had a cigerrete burn. Multiple story hotel with long interior corridors lacking airconditioning or ventalation. Scheduled to spend three nights, we vacated after two and beleive it or not, found the motel 6 in downtown DC to be cleaner and more suitable for our families stay.

I deeply regret your dissatisfaction with your recent stay at our hotel. We strive to provide award winning service and it is apparent that we did not provide that to you. The feedback that you provided is appreciated because we know it will only make us better. I do apologize that you were inconvenienced by the behavior of our front desk agents and that you were not supplied with the adequate items in your room. I have had a retraining with all members of the staff to ensure that our guests never feel again that we did not provide them with the high standards of service that our guests and our company strive to live up to. Again we apologize that we could not live up to the standards of clean and friendly and hope that you will give us an opportunity to impress you in the future. Please call me if and when your travels bring you back to Alexandria.

i checked in room #542 on 27 June 09. i was laying on the bed watching TV and a mice came out of under the other bed and moving around the room. i couldnt believe that the Comfort Inn has a mice in ther hotel room. Then i packed all of my stuff and ran down to the front desk for money back or change the room. They changed the room in the same floor but i requested to different floor. I didnt feel good stay one night in this hotel and sleeping with a mice. I didnt even want to step on the floor because i felt the mice might be in this new room as well.
i do not recommend this hotel for staying...but if you stay in this hotel, make sure there is no mice in your room first.

I would first like to thank you for bringing these issues to my attention. We at the Comfort Inn Alexandria strive to give nothing less than clean and friendly to all our guests. It is apparent that we have fallen short of this during your stay and wish to apologize for the inconvenience. We have taken every percussion to avoid this situation in the future and we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you further so we can make it right for you.

It is an older property but clean and typical room. They were even having carpets cleaned the week we were there. Nothing fancy . Value for money. Breakfast was in the IHOP attached with a voucher but service was terrible. Service is terrible at the IHOP in IL too, so it must be a management problem. Great location for shopping and touring. Would stay there again if I want to spend under $100 and have a king bed, free parking and breakfast. In Pentagon area with most hotels a lot higher than this Comfort Inn.

While we really enjoyed Alexandria and Washington, DC, the hotel was pretty run down and not in a very nice area. Evey other floor was a smoking floor and the venting system didn't work very well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The shuttle to the metro station was full, so we gave up after the first day and drove to the metro station and parked there.
The "free" breakfast was in the IHOP attached to the hotel, paid for by coupon, but the coupon didn't cover the cost. If you wanted a better breakfast, you could order from the menu, but the food was mediocre. We stayed there 5 nights. Toward the end of the week I stepped in to the bathroom and was hit with water pouring in through the light fixture, coming from the roof. They said their gutters were clogged and that's why that happened. I had to ask to have our room changed and they then did it cheerfully. The second room was like the first - a bit run down and needing some care. The rooms were kept very clean and I appreciate that in a hotel room. We didn't enjoy our experience in this hotel and would not stay there again. Would not recommend it for anyone.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Landmark from January 15th-21st. We were in attendance for the Inauguration of Barack Obama. We tried to get a hotel in DC, but they were sold out. We came across the Landmark Hotel and it offered a competitive rate so we decided to stay there. I will have to stay we received very good service and the hotel workers were very friendly. When we arrived our room was very cold and never warmed up. I called down to the lobby and within 10 minutes maintenance was checking it out and within 30 minutes we were transferred to a room where the heat was working.

Each morning we made our way down to pick up our IHOP continental breakfast coupons from the front desk. Shuttle service was good and the driver was very nice. When we did not use the shuttle service the person running the front desk was very gracious and called a cab to pick us up. What I have to say is, "Please remember this is not a 5 star hotel and you will not receive 5 star amenities," but it is a clean hotel with friendly staff and location is close to the metro station.
