“Food wasn't very good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

We stayed overnight and decided to try Elsie's for lunch the next day, because of the good reviews
on trip advisor. Ordered Liver and onions a special on the menu. Well it was disgusting and a bit
on the raw side. Could not eat it even thou the plate was huge. We knew the place was in need of
a remodel before we went there. Buyer beware! The service was good , gentleman waiter keep
coming over to ask how the food was. We should have said what we thought but alias we did not.

“We love Elsie's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This was our 4th trip to Elsie's and we love the food. The decor is old and almost retro, but worn. Look beyond that and you will find some delicious home cooking at a very reasonable price. We have dined there at all different times of the day and have not been disappointed. We recommend for anyone on a budget or looking for a deal.

“Looking for a Good Breakfast?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Yes, the floor is littered , the tables rocky, the building dilapidated. But you cant beat the large breakfast for the money, or the friendly and efficient staff. Great breakfast, even the scrapple was good!

“Seen Better Days”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

The magic skillet has been a route 1 staple for quite sometime, however, this is one that should be skipped. The building has become quite dilapidated over the years and what was a cozy diner is begining to look a bit worn. The breakfast menu is quite extensive but my pancakes came with a side of hair. The Air Conditioner unit above our table was covered in mildew and was leaking down the side of the wall.

Unless one is looking for food at 3am after a night on the town, I would skip this restaurant.

“Best Home Fries - just like Moms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

This is not a place you take your fastidious mother. This is a place you go and have a good breakfast with a 3 pound omelet full of EVERYTHING. Have the home fries and the biscuit. It will not disappoint. Or alternately have the waffle and bacon, but still get the home fries still, with extra onions. Yum
