Just returned from Alexandria (4/10/05). Had dinner at Two Nineteen and so looked forward to a great Cajun meal. No Cajun would want to be connected to this claim. More like a Tempora fried catfish arrived at our table with no flavor at all...where were the spices? Salad and soup were good but soup was cold. Nice seating in the restaurant...lots of different rooms and a competent staff although somewhat removed...maybe aloof from the customer.

As a local I love 219, and have always had great service. When I saw the review below, I was a bit shocked as I have never experienced anything like that here. I would also strongly recommend the Chart House, but not IL Porto, despite the ranking by tripadvisor.

My wife and I choose to try out 219 while walking down trendy King Street in Old Town. As soon as we walked in we noticed all of 219's waitstaff having lunch. We asked if they were open and they said yes and seated us. After sitting for twenty minutes with no service, we got up and walked out. The waitstaff was still eating lunch and ha not made an effort to come take our order for lunch.
