This is a top end restaurant with prices to match the exceptional food. We have eaten here twice in the main restaurant and latterly in the bistro in a side room overlooking the garden. The food is different with a strong focus on local produce and seasonal vegetables. The menu can at times be difficult to choose from with unusual combinations especially for a picky eater. But you go to this type of restaurant to see just how top chefs take simple ingredients and make something sublime out of them. I would't normally select a chick pea pancake but it was superb and the pork was equally outstanding. We have never taken the tasting menu but the portions sizes from the main menu were good for us. The wine list is also good with affordable great wines. My sense is that depending on personal food preference this could be one person's sublime eating experience while another might be underwhelmed. This and value for money is the reason for rating this 4 rather than 5.
But Eve is definitely a restaurant I would recommend and return to. It is however busy and because we wanted to eat on my Birthday we had to take a 6.15 reservation which is to my taste a little too early for fine dining. When booking we were also committed to a $200 minimum fee for a no show. This is new to me in the states (but did happen for the Eiffel tower restaurant in Europe) and may put some people off.
