Description: Restaurant Eve has one intention: to bring everything together in perfect harmony-ingredients, cooking techniques, presentation, and that ephemeral, indescribable characteristic that we call soulfulness. We purchase from farms that share our values of quality and sustainability, and showcase the best hand-fed, farm-raised, organically grown bounty Virginia and the surrounding countryside have to offer. Herbs and fruits are gathered from our own garden and everything on our menu has a story, every ingredient is special. From the various offerings of house-made products (which include 7-9 various breads baked daily and artisanal cheeses); to the roster of craft cocktails, by cocktail authority Todd Thrasher; to our carefully chosen ingredients, everything signals a seriousness and reverence for the farmers, crafters, and all the culinary professionals who wish to bring you beautiful food. Restaurant Eve, named after the husband and wife duo's first child, is located in Old Town, Alexandria, listed by many travel sites as one of the most romantic towns in America, 10 minutes from Washington DC, Restaurant Eve is housed in a late 1800's historic warehouse that has been converted into a charming and sophisticated destination. The cobblestone path leading to the restaurant's entrance is lined with candles that set the tone of what is to come. Inside, the space is simultaneously stylish, cozy and refined-a place where special occasions are fondly remembered.

“Very Disappointing 60th Birthday Celebration in the Tasting Room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Uninspired, perfunctory service. Food good, but no "Wow." Wine pairing not up to price. When my daughter asked to confer with the sommelier for his recommendation since she was not having the wine pairing option, our principal waitperson responded "Oh, just pick what you think you would like from our list of single wines here." Amazing for a restaurant with these pretensions! When I called the next morning to discuss my disappointment over the dining experience with Restaurant Eve's manager, I was told he was not in and "to call back later." To me, this response, after I had given my name and had explained that I wanted to speak with the manager about my experience the previous evening, summed up the general lack of professionalism.

“Makes any occasion special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Every year we visit the Washington area and take my adult son to some ridiculously expensive restaurant for his birthday. This year Restaurant Eve was our choice. In a area filled with many wonderful options, this place has it all.
We had the seven course chef's tasting and it was the culinary wonder.
Drinks here are legiondary so don't miss trying out one. We tried some new choices for our wines with the help of the excellent sommelier that perfectly matched our taste and budget.
Perhaps budget is not a word to use in reviewing here but I believe it is worth the spurge.

“Lovely but expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We didn't have time to wait for a seat in the bar/lounge so we took a table in the dining room. We each had a glass of wine and a small salad. The salad was delicious but the bill was $70 including tip. Too much. Maybe the value would have been better in the lounge.

“5 Stars is not enough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Everything was lovely. The servers were perfectly trained, the atmosphere was romantic. The food was perfection in every bite. We had the five course tasting menu and were blown away with every bite. There were several extra bites that were brought to us, so we were able to experience and enjoy much more than the five courses. The wine pairings complemented the food. I cannot pick a favorite bite, everything was amazing. The worst part is that we live so far away and will not be able to return until summer. It was expensive, but worth every penny. I would rather dine out less often and experience a tasting menu here several times a year. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

“Great Food...With a Bad Attitude”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Best restuarant in Alexandria, but some of the worst attitude. Smiles are rare and when they come, they're artificial. Walked in with reservation but had got caught in the rain and instead of being greeted with a sympatheic and understanding attitude, we were looked at like we didn't belong. This attitude has happened before. Attitude should match the food. It doesn't.
