Description: Laporta’s restaurant is the ideal place for extraordinary food in a casual, comfortable setting. Laporta’s has an attentively serviced contemporary dining room perfect for a romantic evening out or any other special occasion, combined with an adjoining intimate Jazz lounge. Relax and listen to the live jazz featured nightly. The lounge has the warmth and friendly feel of a local’s bar yet with the same excellence of service and consistency of food quality that defines our dining room and exemplifies the restaurant as a whole. The menu features inventive fresh seafoods and hearty pastas complemented by the provincial-style desserts of Margaret Laporta.

“A Real Trifecta: Great Food - Service - Jazz Trio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

For a business dinner, Laporta's makes an excellent choice. The food was well prepared and reasonably priced for this quality of restaurant. Daily menu items were selected by my dining companions and they were not disappointed with the innovative meals they received. I went with a standard pasta dish and found it to be a solid selection. On-tap beers are first rate. Our server was friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive. She avoided smal talk, but still was professional. Finally, there was an excellent jazz trio playing throughout the evening. Though not a true jazz fan I thought they really were good and added to the evenings.

“Go on Monday or Tuesday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

They have a special for 2 entrees and a bottle of wine on Monday or Tuesdays for $29.95. I had the salmon, which was good. The portions are smaller but that is fine to not have to toss away food. The wine was house wine, not much flavor. The entertainment with jazz music played on the piano.

“Great food and pretty good service”

The restaurant was not too crowded, the service was quick, and the food was excellent. The jazz band was great too.

“Good Good, Good Price on Mon & Tue Nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We heard Laporta's had a dinner special on Monday and Tuesday nights. Two dinners with a bottle of wine for $28.99, so we decided to give it a try. The food was very good. The wine (we had a choice of red or white of their house wine) was just okay. The service was a little unfriendly, but it didn't bother us, especially after a bottle of wine.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

The concierge at our hotel recommended this place, and it was an easy walk from our hotel. We went on a Monday and took advantage of Laporta's amazing Mon./Tues. special offers. Our meal was excellent - you could tell that everything was fresh. There was live music (on a Monday!) and the waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Get the sangria!!! We will be going there when we visit Alexandria again!
