“I Live in Old Town - Come and Visit!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

As a transplanted NY'er living in Old Town, I just wanted to give a suggestion - if you are visiting Washington DC for business or pleasure, you should definitely try to stay in Old Town rather than DC. But save your pennies beforehand, as it can be a little pricey. Definitely a walking area, but there is quick, easy access to the Metro, which will get you into DC in no time. Old Town features lots of restaurants (some are a bit expensive) and nice little shops. It's business traveler- and family- friendly. Two days here is more than enough time to check everything out. Come in the Fall if you can, when it's not so crowded with tourists and it's easier to move up and down King Street (main thoroughfare).

“Past and Present”

There is a lot of history from this town. If you like trains, come, CW history. There is a dog park under the bridge and a great trail along the river. Check out the light house by the dog park.

“Picturesque”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

The Old Town Waterfront is a happily busy place. People walk along or sit and look out over the river or visit the many interesting shops or the Torpedo Factory which some of us remember when it was indeed a torpedo factory.

“Good area to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Lots of restaurants and bars around this area, the water flows at a good rate so it lacks the briny, rotten smell of some areas (like inland Tampa Bay by Davis Island). Old Town runs the length of King Street from the waterfront, so that option is open, and you can also take a water taxi over to the National Harbor. All in all a good place for a romantic date, a family trip (probably better during the day) or for the intrepid spirit to explore. With Capital Bikeshare at the opposite end of King Street by the metro as well as the King Street Trolley, it s very easy to get to as well.
