“Nice hotel but eat out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Hotel room was large. nicely furnished and clean. The lobby was okay but not enough seating. Gym is very small. Skip the buffet breakfast unless you like cold food. Concierge Sabborne (?) was very pleasant and helpful. Very close to Metro and King street trolly. Parking expensive but you can park on the street on weekends.

We stayed at the Hilton for a week in late September and booked direct with the hotel after researching their deals on the hotel’s web site, we had a large king room with the nightly rate including breakfast, parking and wifi access. The overall cost for the package was slightly less than the rack rate being offered by the so called “discount on line travel companies”. It pays dividends to do a little homework and see what the hotels themselves have to offer. The location is ideal but ask for a high rise room away from the metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

The location of this Hilton is absolutely great for business travelers and event planners, and it's popularity is taking a toll on the facility. There is on site parking. The staff are polite and very helpful. Areas that need freshening are the conference room floor, bathrooms (wallpaper peeling) and some of the room furnishings. The velour-covered chairs don't wear well. Otherwise, the rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant is full service and open for all meals. There is also a very convenient Starbucks cafe located in the lobby. There is no pool on this site, but there is a fitness faciility. The metro station and Amtrac stations are just across the street. We were surprised that it was not noisier due to the trains. Air conditioning was not too noisy, but since you cannot open the window, I'm always hoping the HVAC filters are checked regularly. The hotel is located at the end of King Street (shopping/restaurants) and is about a mile from the waterfront.

Room Tip: Ask to be situated away from the train tracks.

The front desk personnel and the wait staff in the restaurant are top notch The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is literally across the street from a METRO station and is on the local trolley line so you can get just about anywhere in the Washington, D.C. area. You have to pay for the business center & it's over priced.

My husband and I spent four nights here recently. It is literally next to the King Street Metro. He's a Hilton Honors member, so breakfast and wireless internet were included. There was a nice buffet for breakfast along with other items available cooked to order. Although our room backed up to the Metro station and Amtrak/freight tracks, we never heard the trains. There is a very nice Whole Foods near the hotel along with numerous restaurants and shops along King Street. It's about a 1/2 mile walk to the river and the heart of Old Town, although there are many restaurants in proximity to the property. Comfortable, clean room, with nice staff with all the amenities within walking distance.

very adequate Hotel. Great location next to the transit center and train. Also very close to great restaurants and shopping. The price of Internet at $14.95/day is ridiculous. Overall it was a positive experience. The hotel is surprisingly quiet given it's proximatey to the train.

Dirty room. Damp carpet. Damp smell in the room. Bathroom dirty (touch the countertop as soon as we arrived and dirt came off). Fridge needed to be defrosted....it was packed with undefrosted ice!!! Very low standards for a Hotel.
