“Great Stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Wonderful hotel literally right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Very close to numerous amenities, including the metro (King St. subway), great restaurants and trendy shops. Must try the Hard Times café for the chili, and must try the great food and many unique beer choices at John Strongbow's; which is a few blocks walk, but a great way to see the town.

Location is wonderful; the free King St. trolley stops in front of this hotel to take you down King St. Staff were great; Not a luxury hotel, but clean, comfortable and a decent free breakfast offered. For those who just want a clean room to crash in, you cannot beat the price! Bed and bath were fine and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Parking is extra and is in a parking garage underneath the hotel with secure access using your room card. Very nice breakfast. I would stay at this hotel again. The King St free trolley stops in front of the hotel

This is a very typical Hampton Inn with a very kind, friendly and helpful staff. It is a typical clean comfortable Hampton INN. We were staying at a location which was close to the public transportation into DC. This Hampton inn is just a few blocks away from the King Street Station. It is also on the King Street Trolley so after a cold day in DC we were able to walk out of the station and get onto this Trolley and they dropped us off at the Hampton Inn front door. The other amazing thing was that when we were ready for supper we were able to ride the King Street Trolley to many amazing restaurants near the water. This Hampton Inn also offers parking which cost 20 dollars a day. The parking is underground and secure.

Stayed here for one night on new year's eve 2014/15. The hotel was average. Nothing great but nothing horrible either. Room and bathroom was clean enough, though this is definitely an older hotel and it shows. I did bring my road bike inside the hotel and they did not look at me strangely or question it, so I'm happy about that aspect. Also, the checkout time at noon was nice.

My biggest complaint is that there were no parking spaces available in their underground parking garage. Also, finding the parking garage was rather difficult. It's located in the back of the hotel down a small one-way street. There could have been better signs. Also, you open the garage door by scanning your room card key, but the scanner fell off at the first drive-through entrance so we had to try the second one. Finally, elevators were extremely slow and taking forever.

The breakfast was okay, but there was not enough seating for everyone. There is definitely room enough in their lobby that they could put extra tables and chairs.

Honestly, I expect more from Hampton line of hotels. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location in Old Town and it is right outside of the trolley stop.
