Thank you so much for the compliment on one of our most beloved amenities: breakfast made-to-order. The detail our kitchen puts into each and every dish is representative of how much you, the guest, continue to enjoy your visits with us! Thank You for sharing.

We arrived at the hotel around 1000 pm on July 3rd to had to DC for the fireworks on the 4th. Within ten minutes of checking in as we were changing another person began entering our room with an active key. Within a few minutes the desk called to apologize for not keying our room in to the system as occupied. The lobby was very loud and we finally fell asleep around 130 am. The next morning the breakfast was delicious. I went to the front desk after my key did not work after breakfast for our room. The front desk person did not say good morning or any salutation. She took my room key fixed it I said thank you she said no problem. I was not impressed. I get better service at McDonalds.

Service always starts with a smile and based upon your feedback it sounds like we have failed you on this basic, inviting principle and furthermore we errored with providing you an accurate and trouble free check-in experience. For this I do deeply apologize. Unfriendly and inaccurate service is not what we are known for. While I understand there were glimpses of the service we are known for your experience was not what we strive for. Your feedback has been noted and I look forward to sharing with my front office management team so we can help alleviate issues like this in the future.

Stay itself was good to great, but even though our group was somewhat complicated, the local staff should have had better organization to support. First the stay:

Wound up staying in 3 different rooms over our four nights (explained later) so got a good feel. Smoking room was barely adequate for non-smokers, had a dingy look (not surprising). Beds were clean, but space was cramped for 5 people (2 adults, 2 kids + 1 infant) Mattress was creaky, but ok for a night.

Next room was standard suite, and it was a great difference - felt more comfortable in hotel from then on. 3rd room was handicap accessible, and slightly larger room made a huge difference w/ kids. Those rooms were adequate - bed was comfortable, nice extras like Keruig coffee/tea/hot choc options.

Breakfast was GREAT! Many things to choose from, and the quality of the food was excellent - it is just one step below a full breakfast restaurant.

Pool was small but nice; lifeguard appeared on duty full-time. After first day, felt comfortable w/ our kids (late elementary school) going to pool themselves.

Location can't be beat. Metra station, or Trolley to Old Town, directly across street.

Parking garage was attached, but smallest spaces I've ever seen, and very expensive. Would check out surrounding lots for future visit.

Staff highlights:
Found all except one were very pleasant, and multiple went out-of-way:

- Morning desk clerk asked us what time we would like our bags moved to next room, and done as promised.

- When our room wasn't scheduled to be cleaned toward end of their shift 4:00, and we had already returned for afternoon, rec'd call from housekeeping manager, proactively asking us if we wanted it cleaned later that day, then scheduled a special time of 6:30p. Great service!
- After stay, rec'd call from desk clerk saying the found a credit card left in our room - and asked if we wanted it cut-up or mailed to us. Thanks!

But the lack of coordination for groups almost ruined the entire trip. block of about 20 suites set aside for stay Fri-Sun, one person from our family-set reserved 3 rooms for everyone, then we tried to extend back to Wed, and the other 2 tried to extend out to Wed of the next week. Granted that was complicated, but every time I called, months ahead, and said we had a group block we needed to make adjustments to, and asked to speak to someone local, we got shifted to the call center. That miscommunication fouled-up our arrival to a completely sold-out hotel Wed night (which we had to book on priceline - even though 800 service said there were no rooms to be booked) and we had to be accommodated in smoking. Then, they put us in one of my in-laws rooms on Thurs - which necessitated a Friday move. One evening employee in particular was quite frustrated with our problems - but frankly, it was management that bore much of that blame for poor structure/communication.

Bottom-line - once we stopped having to move rooms, and figured out what credit card was on which room, and were able to to enjoy the hotel, it was nice. As long as you don't have to coordinate large groups, can give a strong recommendation.

Room Tip: Handicap Accessible rooms are worth the extra space if staying w/ Children

With so many highs I am troubled by the fact that they were somewhat overshadowed by so many service woes. Our sales team works very hard at ensuring each department is prepared for our conventions, groups, families and meetings. We strive to honor all room type/floor requests and certainly don't make it a point to have our guests uprooted so many times during their stay. I can't thank you enough for the kind words you have said about certain employee interactions, our housekeeping team, the front office team and amenities like our pool and made-to-order breakfast. While I will celebrate these compliments with each and every team member respectively I also look forward to discussing ways we can better prepare for groups like yours in the future. We enjoy accommodating groups and it should reflect in each and every stay. Thank You.

Our first let down was the fact there we didn't have a bathtub. I was unaware of that. Second let down was when we called to have blanket and pillows brought up, it took 50 min. and then they only brought 1 pillow. Overall, this hotel served it's purpose. It was clean. Happy hour and breakfast were good to above average; however, the crowds were usually large. Room were roomy. Service was very friendly.

It is unfortunate that such a standard request that we enjoy being able to honor for each and any guest, such as a tub or shower or high floor or low floor slipped by my staff. Our hotel offers various accommodations that tend to fit each and every guests' individual tastes. I appreciate your comments about our friendly service, cleanliness and standard amenities and I would love to welcome you back at any time for the more first class service experience we are known for. Thank you for the feedback.

Over 100 of us converged on this unsuspecting hotel , and had a great time. From the front desk to the bar to the service staff, everyone put up with us with a smile . Most of the time we took over half of the atrium, and the rest of the other guests at the hotel seemed to enjoy the all the fun we were having.

Room Tip: Take the metro, it is only 1 block to the front door, and get a room on the back side of the hotel a...

Hotel is near the Metro station. Excellent way to get into Washington DC. The staff is super attentive to your needs and does try to go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel except for the first night. We were moved the next day and got a better room.

My family stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July and it was perfect for our needs. The metro was directly across the street and there was plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area. The made to order breakfast was perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only minor issue was when we opened the sleeper sofa the carpet under it was obviously not clean (old cheetos and things of that nature); however I left a note for housekeeping and the items were cleaned the next morning. Overall a great hotel and the location cant be beat for the ease of transportation to and from the Capital. Parking was tight (we drive an SUV) and was $28 a day but parking in DC will easily cost you more for part of the day, so we felt this was a good deal. We will most definitely look at coming back to this hotel on our next trip to the area.
