My family and I stayed at this location for 2 nights: 6/28/13 and 6/29/13. We booked a 2 BR suite and a king bed suite with sofa bed. I chose this hotel because of its location and reviews that I had read. I really wish I had chosen a different hotel. The entire building is in desperate need of renovations; not just minor updates. The carpeting on the front step was extremely dirty and very worn; that disrepair carried through for every step we took throughout the entire hotel. The entry area has low ceilings and a weird layout without much room for guests waiting for service. There are only 2 very small, dirty elevators. The hallways that house the guest rooms reminded me of an old, rundown apartment building; they were dark with old carpeting, dirty walls, and doors that didn't close well. While the rooms/suites were spacious enough, they were not very clean. Our bathroom had fingernail clippings on the vanity top and floor, as well as a chunk of black hair on the floor under the sink that was still there when we checked out, despite housekeeping "cleaning" the suite during our stay. We checked in on Friday less than an hour before a major storm hit the area. Every window in our 2 BR suite gushed water from the underside of the window sills. I'm not talking about a little leak; I really do mean they gushed water. The kitchen floor was flooded. Unfortunately, there was not another suite or even 2 connecting rooms available to switch to, so we had to stay in that suite. Maintenance knew exactly what to do to fix the problem; apparently this had happened before, the drains were clogged? Management deducted $40 each night from the room price, but that wasn't enough in my opinion.
There are no vending machines anywhere in the building, so if you don't carry in your own beverages the only place to purchase them (even a bottle of water) is from the "market" area (a very small room located behind and adjacent to the service desk). I had to wait nearly 15 minutes on Friday evening to pay for 3 bottles of water because there was only 1 person on staff at the front desk to answer phone calls, check guests in, take care of maintenance issues (of which there were plenty) and cash out anyone wanting to purchase items from the market area.
The only non-negative reviews I have for this hotel are the breakfast (which was really very good), the outdoor pool (which was clean and private) and the friendly staff. The respectful, professional demeanor of the staff is not enough to make me ever want to stay at this hotel again, though.
You might not mind this hotel if you are a single individual looking for an extended stay/efficiency apartment atmosphere, especially if you won't be spending much time IN the hotel. If you are someone used to slightly nicer hotels or are traveling with a family, I absolutely DO NOT recommend staying there. We were all severely disappointed with the accommodations, especially considering it is a part of the Wyndham group.
