“Upgraded for free to a 2 bedroom suite!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed our two night stay and found the price before the upgrade very reasonable for six people. Breakfast needs some low carb options though. Lots if families- ours included. Pool was fine and we had the restaurant package - dinner was good - we had takeout and ate in our room. Overall good value and good location to drive into city. Street parking is free in dc on the weekends and taxis were cheaper and easier than the metro in dc!

Reasonable price and spaciousness, fit our family well. We did the economy family package, but the $50 credit for the restaurant wasn't really worth it because we spent more than double that to feed six of us. Definitely some deferred maintenance on the balconies and access to the pool area. But the service was very good, nice experience overall.

After looking for a hotel located just outside Washington D.C., we selected this one for its two bedroom/two bathroom suite and the reasonable price. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The beds were clean as were the bathrooms. The only negative to the bathrooms were the size and lack of bathroom counter space. The kitchen in the suite needed a lot of updating and cleaning. A little clorox and a lot (and I mean a lot) of "elbow grease" was definitely needed. However, after some cleaning of our own we were able to use the kitchen and prepare some meals to save money on food purchases while on vacation. We did not have any problems with noise as some visitors mentioned. All in all...for a family looking for a reasonably priced hotel this is a good deal.

Had a great week in DC. Everything good until last day when some loud mouths came in at 2:30 am. We called the front desk who did nothing. Finally I went in the hallway and confronted the very large man who surprisingly was a little scared of the crazy tired guy who told him to shut up. I went down at 5 and asked the security guard why he did not go upstairs and he told me he never got a call from front desk. He immediately went up and walked around. This was a clean place with nice large rooms. Excellent value for a family. I did call and complain to manager today and they assured me they would talk to night clerk.

THE GOOD: The suite was a decent size, even for the smallest suite. It was clean. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, particularly Karmen. Air conditioning was super cold, which was excellent during the heatwave this past week. The pool looked nice, though we didn't utilize it. THE NOT SO GOOD: The beds were ok, though the pillows weren't really the best. I was glad to bring mine from home. The breakfast was the worst I have ever encountered. You couldn't find a place to sit and the selection was below average. Was pretty noisy in the halls, though I wasn't kept up at night. Bottom line, for the price and location, it averages out to adequate.

Good for families in that the suites are very spacious and well equipped. in addition there is an outdoor pool although not open till 11 am and access to it is poor and via an emergency exit door from the 2nd Floor. Reception staff very helpful and polite. However, the main drawback here are the noisy neighbours certainly on our floor (8th floor) which comprises several ethnic families who apparently are long term residents at the hotel and who use the corridors as a playground during the early hours of the morning. The breakfast is continental and adequate but the size and layout of the dining room is totally insufficient for the size of the hotel-space for 80 guests sat around 10 conference tables. Long queues form for food and we encountered avery rude staff member who attempts to kick you out by 10 am.
The bar/bistro is pretty good with a very friendly barman and reasonably priced drinks and food which is of good quality. There is a regular free shuttle service to the metro station which is really
useful for getting into the city.

I can see how this hotel is good for families given the very spacious room we had. The shuttle they provide is convenient especially if you dont want to pay the higher prices to stay in the city hotels. It was clean and we even had decent food in the hotel bar. The biggest cons were the kids running around til after 2 am on the corridors and playing with remote controlled toys. I think the breakfast room was been renovated so it was across the hall with 10 conference table with only 8 chairs round for the entire hotel!!!! breakfast ends at 9:30 it took us 30 mins to line up from 9am and at the end we were finishing up and the lady said we needed to leave so she could clean up at 10am. I think that was out of line. When we mentioned our feedback to the front desk she confirmed that there are families that have lived there for over a year and these complaints are consistent.
