The hotel was fantastic! The staff was friendly, very pleasant, and very helpful. The rooms were clean (spotless), comfortable, and quite spacious. The bed was excellent. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave. Our room also had a separate seating area and a large desk. It is a livable and workable room.
There is not only Wi/Fi internet access but also a wired connection - great if you are there on business of if you have multiple tech gadgets. Another fantastic thing is that there were many accessible plugs (this may seem like a minor thing but you will know what I mean if you have even had to move a dresser to get at a plug to charge your phone).
Breakfast was included and quite good. Fruit, meat, and eggs were available, as well as regular continental fare.
The hotel is out-of-the-way. It is within a 15-20 minute walk of restaurants and shops but there is nothing closer. However, the hotel provides a shuttle to the Eisenhower metro station. It is a five minute shuttle-ride to the station so the shuttle is frequently available. On evenings and weekends, the shuttle also goes to King Street metro station, which is on the edge of Alexandria's Old Town. There is easy access to the metro and it takes 30 minutes to get to the Smithsonian from the hotel. So, even though the hotel is not near anything, the shuttle makes things quite accessible.
I would recommend this hotel.
