This was to be a wonderful "Girls Weekend Out" at a brand new hotel which was to serve as the anchor point of our celebration. The night of our check-in date, June 29, 2012, the weekend before July 4, the area was hit with a vicious storm which knocked out the electricity from that night until July 1. The staff was accommodating. Fast forward to checkout, July 2, 2012, Understanding the conditions, we were very considerate but I still spoke with the general manager regarding any possible compensations due to apparent inconveniences. I was told in a rude, condescending, and very unprofessional manner that, and I quote, "There will be no compensation, this was a natural occurrence, and you could have checked out at any time during your stay. No one forced you to remain here, and since you chose to remain, there is nothing I will do!" I asked if this was how she spoke to a Hilton Honors patron. I was then told that they, Hampton Inn/Hilton Honors, backed her decision. Keep in mind that there were no vacancies within a 25 mile radius. The weather could not be helped but the rude attitude of the general manager could be. This was not up to Hampton Inn/Hilton Honors Standards. I wouldn't stay at this property again!

We only stayed at this hotel for 1 night. We got a suite with 2 queen beds + sofa sleeper. This room was HUGE. We had a very good dinner at a Mexican restaurnt called El Paso about a mile down the road. Breakfast at the hotel was good. The hotel was in a perfect location for our visit to Mt Vernon the next morning.

The hotel staff was wonderful. We stayed here while visiting DC and the sites. The hotel is very clean and the rooms spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was available to assist with issues and/or provide information regarding the area. The pool area was clean and kept. The Continental Breakfast consisted of bagels, muffins, cereal, egg dish, sausage, etc. The breakfast staff were courteous and maintained the area. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The distance was far enough out from the city but not too far. There are several places to eat in the area from fast food to finer dining. Highly recommend.

My husband and I visited Washington DC for a week in May 2012 and found the hotel to be very nice. It was clean, affordable and safe. We had a car and drove to the Huntington Metro station each day. We did not find this to be inconvenient, it just took some extra time each morning.

The property was nice and we loved the free parking and wifi. The free breakfast was good - typical free hotel breakfast. I had a bagel & coffee every morning, so I can't really comment on any of the other food items. The attendant was very nice and friendly.

We had a quick check in and check out. Hotel staff was friendly but we didn't interact with too many staff members - just no need. I had everything planned out really well before we went, so we didn't have many questions or needs.

Room wasn't a typical suite (2 rooms) but it was very spacious and comfortable for our week long stay. Bed was good, shower pressure was great, lighting was great (for make up, etc). We were on the 4th floor, on the front side of the hotel. We occasionally heard some traffic or other guests, but we were not bothered by it. I am a light sleeper and didn't have any issues.

Overall we were happy with our stay and would consider staying again if we are in the area.

The hotel was clean, but the layout was less than desireable. The beds were springy and no padding to them. Customer service was average. I would not stay at this Hampton Inn again. Pool was small and NO HOT TUB!!! Very disappointing.

I was well pleased with our stay at this Hampton Inn. It's pretty new, so it's in good shape. The hotel is a great location for visiting Mt. Vernon or Ft. Belvoir. However, it's not a great location for visiting DC. Additionally, there's not a lot of restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. If you want to go out to eat, you'll need to drive down the road a bit to a more strip-mall type area (Ruby Tuesday's, Starbucks, Cold Stone, etc). To get to this shopping area you have to drive through a not great part of Alexandria.

We reserved the 2 Queen Room Suite and it was HUGE! It has 2 beds and a pull-out sofa. My daughter was able to do cartwheels in the room without bumping into anything or anyone. During the week the lobby has freshly baked cookies, which were quite tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The complimentary breakfast was nice. They offered a waffle station, a various hot item (eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, etc.), oatmeal with additions. They offer plenty of room for guests to eat: the main dining area and an overflow room. Some of the chairs were a little low for the tables.

The pool is somewhat of a quandary. They offer a lifeguard, which is an anomaly for most hotels. But because they offer a lifeguard, they limit the pool hours to only the time where the lifeguard is on duty. I think it would benefit them to offer a "no lifeguard on duty" time as well. The pool also offers something rarely seen in a hotel pool: handicap lift into the pool.

Room Tip: The 2 Queen or King Suite is an exceptionally large room and worth the extra money.
