“Fun short weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

I absolutely loved it here! So close to all big tourist attractions. Literally 15-20 minute ride into Washington. T station across the street. So many restaurants and stores nearby. The bar in the hotel had good cheap drinks! The bed was heaven, I slept like a baby! Bathroom very clean and good size. There were Peter Thomas Roth products (top brand line sold at sephora) in the bathroom! Housekeeping was always nice enough to restock daily. Wet bar area with nice fridge, huge tv. Check in and out smooth and easy! Heads up on parking through, $25.25 a night, a bit high for such small tight spaces and no in and out privilege. I'm glad to have read previous reviews and would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend it!

When we arrived, they had no non-smoking rooms available, so they put us in a smoking room in the Retreat Center with the promise to move us the next day to the room of our choice in the tower (main hotel). They also gave us tickets for complimentary breakfasts in the hotel restaurant for our entire stay. True to their word, they found us a room in the tower the next morning and moved all of our belongings for us. The staff is not exactly gregarious or chummy, but they all did their jobs well, quickly, and courteously without being obsequious.

Dining options are limited (Finn and Porter in the lobby), but good. There's not much in walking distance, so prepare to drive if you want to eat anywhere other than Finn and Porter. There are many very good restaurants in Alexandria, which is a lovely town that makes you forget you're so close to DC. The gift shop had outrageously expensive snack items, but reasonable priced gifts.

The room was comfortable and the amenities were as described. Be warned, the walls in the tower were paper thin. There were times that the folks next door to us would talk and it almost sounded as if they were in the room with us - it was creepy at times. Thankfully, this was never a problem at night. The air was not easy to control - it was either too hot or too cold, but never to a great extreme.

Housecleaning did a great job and were very prompt when we had any needs.

Room Tip: Avoid the Retreat Center. The higher the floor the better because the views are good. Ask for a room...

Stayed here for 2 nights in June 2013. First of all a huge thank you to the lovely woman at the front desk who upgraded us to a corner room on the 21st floor - it was amazing! Two walls of the room had huge windows and we had an incredible view of Washington DC. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff was very professional. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning - only disappointment was one morning there did not appear to be enough staff and we were ignored for about 15-20 minutes before our order was taken and the waitress did not apologize. But the food was good.
We rented a car so the distance from transportation was not an issue. However, we did also take advantage of the free shuttle to the Pentagon City Metro which was a short ride away, which we didn't mind. We didn't feel inconvenienced at all.
Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, they are large and have excellent views!

Recently stayed two night at this hotel. The staff was exceptional. It seemed as though they were trained to say, "Good morning ...afternoon...evening." However, it might just be part of their nature. The room (23rd floor) view was spectacular. The conference facilities were quite good. Best of all, if there was a problem, they tried to correct immediately. While the Finn and Porter restaurant food was very good, there are literally no other options available to hotel guests (unless the food trucks are parked next door during the noon hour). On a positive note, the hotel provides regular shuttle service to both DCA airport and Old Town Alexandria. Overall, this is a great hotel if you don't need to walk to local sites or restaurants.

The Hilton Alexandria is a well appointed, upscale property located near the fairly new Department of Defense buildings. If you are working in one of the buildings, you will find it very easy to walk to work. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the on-site restaurants/bars are very nice. They offer government travelers (perhaps others) a free breakfast which seems like a great deal. The only downside to the property is the lack of direct access to public transportation (the Metro). The Hilton runs a free shuttle on the half hour to the Metro and to Reagan National Airport (usually a $20 cab ride) and as long as you can work within those time frames, you should be fine.

Room Tip: If booking on-line and traveling on behalf of the government, don't forget to select the rate th...

Although this hotel was a bit inconvenient to most of our weekend activities, it was so comfortable and had such a beautiful location that each night it felt like coming home. I would stay here again.

Excellent property, price, comfort, and service TOPS.... Location is Perfect, close to all the monuments. As President of Honor Flight Southern Colorado our group spends extensive time searching for the right hotel to honor our WWII Heroes, We found it in the Mark Center Hilton. We had a large group 45 total, 3 day event / prices were great, breakfast, and dinner banquets. Our WWII Veterans and guardians were Super impressed with the entire visit. Food was amazing, flavor, variety, temperature, presentation, the service all around the hotel was Well ABOVE average and I've traveled extensively.

Room Tip: 11th floor was perfect, no extraneous noise, perfect.
