I attended a New Years Eve event at this hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful, but service, professionalism and hospitality at the hotel were poor. To be such a large and reputable hotel, the planning and logistics for this event were horrible. Think twice before planning or attending ANYTHING here. There were hundreds of people in attendance and ONE SHUTTLE running at the end of the party to get people to the parking lot. No one helped to organize the extremely long line, and to make things worse, the shuttle driver took 30 minutes to complete a five minute ride! Many people had to wait for the shuttle to complete multiple trips before they could get on. I called the manager while waiting in line and nothing was done. There was no explanation for why there was one shuttle running when so many exhausted people needed to get to their cars. Tickets for this event were sold in advance, so the need for more shuttles should have been anticipated, ESPECIALLY at the end of the event. POOR PLANNING, POOR SERVICE!!!

This was our 5th year celebrating Thanksgiving at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center. The hotel is great for family celebrations and reunions. This year we had several rooms and suites on the 29th floor. These suites are excellent for entertaining. We had 18 guests for Thankgsiving dinner, 12 for brunch, 14 for dinner and cocktails. All our guests were impressed with the suites and the views from the suites. If we didn’t have breakfast in the suite, we ate downstairs in the restaurant which has a beautiful private room that seats at least 12. There is a room on the 29th floor which is currently being remodeled. That room will be great for entertaining. The Hilton has done a wonderful job on the recent remodel. Everything has been updated and the décor is upscale.

There is no need for a car. You can take the hotel shuttle to/from Reagan Airport and to/from Pentagon City where you can catch the metro into DC. There is a Starbucks, Subway, and Giant food store within walking distance.
Besides the great accommodations, the staff is outstanding, especially Christina Souza in reservations and sales.

There were two glitches in our stay. First, even though I reserved a block of rooms on the 29th floor for guaranteed late arrival, my nephew’s room was given away (he checked in around 8pm). He was able to get a room on a lower floor. Second, the bathtubs in our suites were soaking tubs and extremely deep. It was a challenge getting in and out of them, especially for my 86 year old mother.

And yes, we intend to return next year.

We stayed at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center December 21, 2011 enroute to Philadelphia and found the staff to be warm and welcoming. Our room was immaculate, with excellent bedding and well lighted. The decor was very pleasing. We had dinner in their restaurant, "Finn & Porter." The food and service was outstanding. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This Hotel is under rennovation, the rooms are nice but the front dest is very slow. It appears that have sut back on their front desk clerks and checking out for me took a long time. The moring buffett breakfast is decent, but not great. As a hilton diamond member I was a little disappointed. I have they improve the manpower there as they improve the looks of the lobby
