“comfortable convenience for DC visitors”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

close by metro stations make trips into DC easy and affordable for visitors, especially families on a budget. Our room was clean, pleasantly furnished with a two burner stove top, microwave, and full sized refridgerator. Free breakfast buffet was about average as to options and quality. Only annoying factor to our stay - the most annoying elevator floor indicators, an irrating mechanical buzz as each floor was passed! why the buzz, and if needed how about a more pleasant bell sound? Old Town and other Alexandria attractions within walking distance.

We have stayed in various places around Washington and this time decided to stay in Alexandria so we could take a river cruise to Mount Vernon. A nice modern looking hotel with secure onsite parking. Check in was easy and the clerk told us all about the shuttle that would take us anywhere we wanted to go within a mile and half. Rooms were a bit of a surprise when we came across only one king size bed and what was a sofa bed. This was our own fault for not checking the booking correctly. We had two rooms each with three people in ( 6 of us travelling in all). This would not have caused much of an issue had the sofa bed been made up ready, we didn't expect to have to do this ourselves. Also there were only two towels in the bathroom, if they were expecting three in each room, surely it should have been made up to accommodate this. But this was the only glitch in the proceedings. The room also had a lovely kitchen area and if we had been staying any longer we certainly would have used this. We quickly had the room sorted and took the shuttle into old town Alexandria. Shuttle driver was friendly and told us were to meet him at the time we were ready to leave. The breakfast room the following morning was full to brimming but the member of staff was trying his best to keep it clean. It was nice to be able to have waffles with all types of toppings to go with them. The mornings shuttle driver told us all about the local history and pointed out several different places on the drive to the river front. We would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.

This lovely property is a five minute walk to the metro and if you don't want to walk they will take you there in the shuttle! we were there for 3 nights and found the rooms and property to be well kept and updated. The breakfast was tasty, the parking was secure and the staff were all wonderful to chat with. I would highly recommend this place for everyone other than the Luxyry clients, we all enjoyed our stay

I stayed during Memorial Day weekend. Nice hotel with spacious and clean rooms. It is located in a good area and is very close to Washington DC by car. There is a parking fee of $18.00 per day. I had a pleasant stay. Would stay again.

Stayed here on business for several nights. Very nice, rooms are great and the palce is fairly new. The parking is tight but was able to park at the hotel each night. Housekeeping was not up to par. Missed emptying trashcans twice and providing towels. Otherwise a very good stay and Whole Foods is a few minutes away.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback regarding your stay. I empathize with the lack of space you encountered during your stay and I apologize for the inconvenience you and your family experienced . Our hotel has various sizes of suites available. In addition to our studio suites, we also offer larger one and two bedroom suites too. I would welcome the opportunity to accommodate you in one of those larger suites as I am confident that those larger sizes will be adequately accommodating for you and your family. Once again thank you, and I hope to earn the opportunity to accommodate you in one of our larger suite sizes the next time you visit..

This was my first time at a Residence Inn. There are a number of them in the Washington DC/Arlington/Alexandria area. I chose this one via Priceline. It is a newer property, and still in good shape. It is in a safe neighborhood. It is several blocks from the Eisenhower Metro stop, and about a mile from the King Street Metro stop. There is a Whole Foods several blocks away, and a movie theatre two blocks in the other direction. For the price, it was a good choice for visiting the DC area. The Metro is rather easy to use once you learn the system.

The breakfast has good options (eggs, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, and more). At times, it was a lot of people for the area, meaning things were not always real clean during that time. However, overall it was a good breakfast to start the day.

The rooms were nice. Things were not luxurious, but certainly good.

They offer a shuttle, although I never saw it during my 4 night stay. Hotel staff were always very friendly.

We stayed here so we could participate in the Race for Hope on May 5th. The rate was fantastic for the area, the metro is about 5 blocks away, which we took into DC. Check the schedule if you need to be somewhere at a certain time as there are fewer trains on the weekends and station interruptions for repair work.

King street is only a few blocks away but it is a long walk all the way down to the water. It's really on the edge of Old Town. We love to walk so no problem, although the hotel does provide a free shuttle.

We parked in the parking garage across from the hotel. Much cheaper on the weekends then hotel parking.

We had a one bedroom suite with a sofa coach which worked great since our 5 year old was with us. Rooms are huge, clean, and have a full kitchen.

Breakfast was great. We picked up dinner at the Whole Foods that is right around the corner and brought it back to our room. After a long day of walking, this was a nice option.

We love Old Town Alexandria and will definitely choose this hotel again.
